BSOD for power drive state failure

My laptop is fairly new and should not be giving me the issues that it does. It suddenly started blue screening for no reason. I don't have to be doing anything, it will just crash for no reason. I have done a full system wipe and it still crashes. I need help.

Download and install this one.

Free up the startup.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and SynTPEnh.exe
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Let us know the results. And, which antivirus do you use?

Hello Arc and thank you for the help. The antivirus I use is Zone Alarm. I just tried downloading that driver fusion and the site kept crashing and the download links went to other pages that were not for driver fusion. Is there another place I can get it?

For me, Driver Fusion links to this page. |MG| Driver Fusion (Driver Sweeper) 1.4.0 Download

Uninstall Zone Alarm. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

I went to install that driver you linked and it said I do not have compatible graphics hardware. I have removed all the display driver files with driver fusion in safe mode so I am not sure what is wrong.

The card I have is 460M and it is not supported by that particular driver. Is there another that would be acceptable?

Your GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M. It is compatible to that driver that I pointed out. Earlier, a lot of people did it successfully, even with the same GPU.

Make it sure that you have downloaded this one. Then restart the computer and try again. There is no feasible cause of such an event.

If still it result the same thing, let us know.
