BSOD's keep happening during D3 and other games

I've been plagued with them on and off since I got my laptop a year or so ago, but they had disappeared for several months until recently. Usually they happen if I'm playing a high graphics game, but sometimes when I close the lid for it to sleep, and once just with several tabs open in chrome. Went through chkdsk fine and 7 passes of memtest without errors. I have the newest nvidia driver and I updated all of my outdated ones that I could find and still am experiencing crashes. Any help would be most appreciated!

    I've attached the requested zip.

    Welcome to SevenForums.

Update this driver to the version on the link below:
    Code:
    lmvm iaStor
    start end module name
    fffff880`0108f000 fffff880`011e3000 iaStor T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: iaStor.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\iaStor.sys
        Image name: iaStor.sys
        Timestamp: Tue Sep 14 07:23:32 2010 (4C8ECE94)
        CheckSum: 00073894
        ImageSize: 00154000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) RAID Driver
    Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security	Elle-PC\Elle:Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security	Elle-PC\Elle
    Start Menu\Programs\Spybot - Search & Destroy	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Spybot - Search & Destroy	Public
Please remove Spybot, it's not the best security program to use and I've seen various problems with Trend Micro AV.

    Microsoft Security Essentials.

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
       Warning
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

    Perform a System File Check:
    1. Click on the start
    2. Type CMD on Search
    3. Left click and Run as Administrator
    4. Type SFC /scannow

    Full tutorial here:

Reduce items at start-up. Nothing except anti-virus is required plus improves the time for logging in windows.

    Check for a BIOS update:
    Code:
    BIOS Version/Date	American Megatrends Inc. G73Sw.205, 2/10/2011
Disk Check on your hard drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

    Let us know the results.

Okay thanks, I will do this later tonight and post the results.

One question about the link to the driver update, the downloads on that page say they are for windows server 2003, xp, and vista..is that the correct link or am I supposed to use the one here:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...r.sys&lang=eng

Also, do I download the iata_enu.exe one or f6flpy-x64.zip?
Just wanted to make sure before hand! Thanks!

I did everything except updating the driver, since I never heard back for confirmation that it was the correct link...but so far no bsod. Will post again if it shows up again. Thanks for the advice!

Sorry about that I'm not sure myself actually so I requested my friend to take a look.

He's been busy but he'll reply soon. Anyway, please upload new reports if you get bsod. :)

We have seen the newer Intel RST drivers cause a lot of crashes, as I have in my systems, the last known stable version is v11.2.0.1006, the one Koolkat linked.
That version is good for Windows 7 & 8, I'm running it on older desktops and laptops as well as my new rig. All the versions between 11.2.0.1006 and 11.6... have been removed from Intel's site, which confirms the issue is known to them. I did try the two latest versions, 11.6... and 11.7..., they crashed as well.
They do run on some systems, but not on all.

If you have another crash, install the 11.2.0.1006 version.
