Description here: http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=klif.sys

We have seen a lot of BSOD crashes caused by klif.sys. It is a very common BSOD causer.
My suggestion to you is to uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one. If you want to do further and deeper scans, you may use these standalone tools:
Let us know the situation after making those changes.

Personally I think if you are not going to persist with the Kaspersky ditch it and in my mind MSE is not in the same league as Kaspersky never has been and never will be.

Running it with Kaspersky on board is pointless but the choice is yours my friend.

As kaspersky is causing crashes in your computer, it is better you keep away of it.

Almost all the antivirus programs cause crashes other than MSE. About security, it gives the topmost security to the user, for sure. Most of us long time SF members depend on it, and never we faced any virus issues.

Final decision is your .......

Without Kaspersky and with MSE, if there is any further crashes, let us know.

I am no expert and I don't pretend to know the whole works and dice but I think that most members in here would agree that it is bad practice at best and foolhardy at worst to run two full on / fully featured security applications at the same time .

As for Kaspersky I have been using the security suite for the last four years and have said it more times than I care to remember that Kaspersky does not like being used with any other AV except the usual on call scanners.
The machine is best cleared of all AV's first Kaspersky installed and then when fully operational one can add in Malwarebytes, SAS, ADWCleaner for casual detection etc etc.

Duomaxim my friend as I said a while ago if you don't do this as I have just explained then you may as well leave the Kaspersky. That is a shame because it is one of the better security applications around and you will have done your dough.

I don't agree with Arc in that it is the Kaspersky causing the crashes more that it is the conflicts with other security softwares that is causing your problems.
Personally I do not think MSE is that good and that any security is far from foolproof in any case - a lot of the responsibility for malware related problems rests with the user and that users habits.

Having said that if you do carry on with Kaspersky I can provide you with a very good configuration set up for it so please PM me if you feel so inclined.

John, if you look at the analysis, klif.sys (a Kaspersky-related file) is identified as being the possible cause, so in this case I would agree with Arc.

Have a decent search through the BSOD posts, and you will see lots of BSODs related to klif.sys. Other anti-malware software, for example Avast and Norton, have their issues on a regular basis too.
