System Exception Error, sometimes Freezes ,BSOD and failure to powerup

    System Exception Error, sometimes Freezes ,BSOD and failure to powerup


    Had these problem recently, a day after i bought my razer mamba and installed the drivers,was wondering if it is the root cause. Thanks in advance for helping.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
    i5-2500 3.30GHz
    4GB Ram
    nVIDIA GT 440

    Hi Xamdou,

    Please remove Daemon tools from your system as it is a known cause of BSOD's.

    Please go to Start > computer > click on Uninstall or change a program and uninstall the program.
    Then Reboot the system.

    Once the program is uninstalled, download SPTD.exe from:

    Run the sptd and choose uninstall to remove the driver from your system:
    then restart.

    Probably caused by : cng.sys ( cng!GatherRandomKey+7d )
    Stop message 0x000000D1 Descriptive text: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    Usual cause: An attempt was made to touch pageable memory at a process internal request level (IRQL) that was too high.
    This is usually caused by drivers using improper addresses. Kernel-mode drivers are forbidden to access pageable memory at a high IRQL.
    Related to: Kernel Cryptography, Next Generation

    Please ensure you have all the latest Windows Updates installed.

    Also run:
    System File Checker to check the integrity of all Windows 7 system files:

    Click on the Start > Type in search cmd
    Right click cmd at top and Run as Administrator
    Type or better still copy and paste: SFC /scannow at the prompt

    Hey Dave for informational purposes I will tell you I have seen Antivirus mess with cng.sys That may not be the case here but just thought I would share the knowledge.

    As dsprague rightly pointed out:

    Please remove your Anti-virus Avast as this could be causing problems:



    Please install:

    Microsoft Security Essentials.
    Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability
    compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. And it has a smaller footprint.

    Sent it for warranty a few weeks ago, turns out to be the graphic card's problem lol, shall mark this as solved.
