Thanks, I will try that. Again though, will it mean a problem for him accessing the stuff on his NAS server using RAID? Again, I have only done RAID briefly and on Solaris so I'm not so good at it.

If he need to store data for the NAS server in more than one HDD, he must use RAID.

Make it sure at first, and depending on his answer, take the necessary alternative step.

He uses RAID on his NAS, I know that. He has 2 TB of available storage there on the NAS. However, I do not know if he needs to store info on his own laptop for that. Do you know?

I will ask him too.

Sorry, what was the alternative to uninstalling these you wrote?

I am now in the process of making a Windows 7, 64 bit DVD that he can get to repair or install his windows(I'll do it for him though). It just finished. I followed a post by gregrocker from 2011 actually.

I will soon go into msconfig and make the changes you wrote and not the changes to his windows' stability.

Thanks a lot.

I cannot do that. Page fault, 0x50 this time too, again referring to win32k.sys. I believe this file is corrupt.

Once the Win 7 has finished getting a label, I will try to do a repair using it.

Anyhow you are to disable to those intel stuff to save it from the crashes at first, then update the storage/RAID driver.

win32k.sys is not corrupt. If it is, SFC should have corrected it. So dont worry. When the crash itself does not obtain enough information to display (which might be available in the raw stack of the dump file) it displays some files as the probable cause, win32k.sys and ntoskrnl.exe are two most common names.

OK. How do I disable the intel stuff though when it crashes on me while doing so?

I went back and re-read your earlier post. Have downloaded the files for his IASTOR. I am a bit confused as to whether he needs to run this on his laptop or if the NAS is supposed to have stuff running there. I have never used NAS's myself. This Iastor.sys is supposed to only be used if he has RAID on his personal laptop, is that right?

I cannot determine his mode as mentioned in the readme-file of the IASTOR-download as I need the graphical interface for that. I will try to simply replace his iastor-file with the one I downloaded on the link you gave.

Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver - can I uninstall this from the command prompt?

Ask him if he Uses RAID or not. Everything depends on it.

For the time being, if you cannot disable it, just update it. It will make the system stable there.

He does not have this catalog: "\Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology" mentioned in the readme(under "<bootdrive>\Program Files\Intel\"). He only has "WiFi"(catalog) there. Should I still replace his "iaStor.sys"?

Just sent him an sms. I know he uses RAID on the NAS. He does not do so on his laptop. This I know.
