    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE: ntoskrnl.exe+e96d2

At least 50% of the time my laptop will BSOD everytime, when closing the lid (sleep). BlueScreenView does not provide enough information to determine the cause. My thoughts, based on hours of searching, is that it may be wireless/bluetooth or MS Forefront Endpoint Protection. I have not used the WinDebug as I dont have any experience with it.
There are 2 recurring crashes. I dont know how they are related other than something hangs during sleep process. Any help would be appreciated.

mtneerman, you update the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Adapter from Intel® Customer Support . Also download and install intel rapid storage driver, this version only.

    Let us know the results.

After posting, I followed instructions (as I had done before with no results) to use the verifier.exe. After rebooting I did receive a crash on startup indicating dne64x.sys in the Driver_verifier_Detected_Violation. I removed Cisco VPN installation. I also followed the directions above. The Rapid Storage Driver required a reboot. Before I rebooted (since it takes a week to reboot), I went ahead and installed the latest WiFi Link Adapter (which did not require a reboot). At this point I wanted to test sleep mode before bouncing the machine. After closing the laptop lid, the OS crashed again(DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE: ntoskrnl.exe+81e7a). Not sure why a different address. I rebooted which finalized the Rapid Storage Driver installation. I have closed my lid to sleep and wake twice now. There is definite improvement, however, I am wary to declare the problem resolved.
@Arc: What was it that prompted you to post your suggestions? Did you see similar cases, was based on my thoughts on the cause(s) in the original post or was this determined from disseminating the log files? Just curious for future reference...Thanks again for your quick response.

No luck. I have had it happen a few more times. Now I really don't know what might be happening. Logs posted. Thank you again for your help.

Jaksta Networking Driver. You use it for streaming video capture. Try to update it from http://www.jaksta.com/; better you uninstall this program, if video capture is not a must.

Update the Intel HD Graphics Driver, either from our forum link, Latest Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 7, or You may get it from Intel Download Center.
Moreover, you may run the Intel (R) Driver Update Utility to auto detect the appropriate driver for your computer.

For the port, first, uninstall and reinstall the USB ports drivers.

    1. Right click on Computer icon > manage. It will open the computer management window.
    2. Click on "Device Manager" in the left pane, it will list all installed devices up.
    3. Expand "USB Serial Bus Controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
    4. Click on one item to select, then right click and uninstall.
    5. Do the same for all.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate drivers.

And, Disable USB Selective Suspense too.
USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off

For the devices, first, detach all the USB devices other than the keyboard and mouse.
Then, Update the drivers for them all, including the keyboard and mouse, if any third party drivers are installed for them.

Rapid Storage is still causing problems. Get rid of intel rapid storage.

    1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
    2. It will open the "computer management" window.
    3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
    4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
    5. Select Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall it
    6. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate system driver, msahci.sys.

Scan the system for possible virus infection.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

It seems that you are very fond of videos.

    Thank you!

I made an account just to say thanks! I've been dealing with this issue for 6 months and countless hours. I' not sure what the solution was but it was either removing the USB drivers and l;etting Windows reinstall on startup or Disableing USB Selective Suspense.
    Either way Thanks so much.

    P.S I never
Got rid of intel rapid storage.

    Welcome. :)

But, BSODs are always different. If one random suggestion worked for you, that is just a mere chance. The suggestions/steps applicable for your issue can be provided only after checking your log files.

So, if you have any further issues, follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions
