This is kinda new computer, build 4.1.13. SSD and HDD, Intel i5 3570K
BSOD comes 100% random BUT not if I am gaming. So my GPU could cause the BSOD.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit version.

PS. I'm Finnish so mind my language.

Is your 3570K overclocked?

(by the way, nice power supply!)

Oh. Then are you using an Offset voltage? That is, does the voltage go way down when the CPU is idling?

Using an offset while overclocking can be the cause of random BSODs while idling or under very light load such as you described, but only if the the c-states called "C3" and "C6" are enabled at the same time.

I think the easiest way to find out is by looking in the BIOS. It's under OC Tweaker > Voltage Configuration > CPU Core Voltage. The default is Auto.

You can also watch CPU-Z while and compare your idle and load core voltages:

CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

("CPUID" is the developer's name)

If you're using an offset voltage, then there should be a massive difference between idle and load voltages. So the reason for the idle BSODs and lock-ups is sometimes caused by the idle voltage being too low.

Well, actually I'm not going to overclock my CPU yet. Because I have some problems with my H100i right now.
And yes I have offset voltage.

I had the wrong impression. When you said "I'm working on it", I thought you meant that you had already begun overclocking.

How did you come to the conclusion or assumption that it might be Windows Update causing this?

BSOD comes usually when I start my Windows update.
This is kinda interesting: my motherboard has this ASRock AXTU software and I found that there's some kind of power saving thingy. It undercloks my CPU and if it's not working correctly it could affect BSOD. ( I think )
Im trying that power saver option and watching what happens.

I think this is closing up if power saving option would screw this up
