So basically installing Nexus Mod Manager turned into a huge fiasco where I was crashing basically over and over again. I finally decided to just do a fresh windows install and start over. So I'm back to square one. I had one crash, but it was the LAN driver issue so I cleaned it and installed the updated version. So far no other crashes, freezes or BSOD for the rest of the afternoon. The fresh install also cleared up the issues I have having with my Windows Updater failing to install some security patches.

Having said that, I have not installed MSE yet on this computer. I'm very worried that MSE was causing issues, plus the x64 bit version is corrupted and unavailable on the Microsoft website, so I'm hesitant to reinstall it. Do I have other options for AV that I could look into instead of MSE?

There are other ones like Avast! and Kaspersky. Avast has a more robust feature set than MSE but that also means there more room for bugs, though as long as the software itself is updated periodically it shouldn't be much an issue. Kaspersky free edition is very, very simplistic and may or may not offer enough for your tastes.

If you consider MSE to originally be the issue, try testing the stability of the system with it and then without. Given the description you've provided about the error from the MSE service (error C000000D), I have a feeling the installation of MSE was actually corrupted rather than MSE itself just harboring a bug. A C000000D error (invalid parameter) is common from corrupted installations of software. I reckon finding a clean installer for MSE shouldn't be too difficult.

Based on the fact that the 64 bit version I was using is now fully corrupted and unavailable from Miscrosoft, it may be possible it was not a good file I used to install the software. I saw that one of the other senior members posts a like where I could get a good download of MSE, so I'll try that.

As far as the stability of my comp, I'm running in exactly as I was prior, just without MSE or any other AV and I've not had any crashing with downloading or playing videos yet. I did have a random restart without a BSOD, so no crash dump, but the event logs showed the following:

Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188

    and

The maximum file size for session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\system32\WDI\LogFiles\BootCKCL.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 104857600 bytes.

At the time of this restart, I was putting a large amount of data from a compressed folder into my C drive.

I really don't know what this means, but when I googled it, I saw that it could be further issues with the motherboard. I'm already leaning towards RMA due to the possible issues with the LAN port, so I'm wondering if this is further evidence of MB problems.

It sounds like the log file just needs refreshing. Delete the log file it mentions and let it recreate a new one. It shouldn't really have any impact on the stability of your system, just that it can't properly log information because the event log for that specific data collector is full.

I honestly can't see how this is associated with any hardware malfunctioning. It's just a common error in that it is doing kernel event tracing (which can quickly grow in size) and it just got filled up. Nothing to worry about.

After days of no problems, I put MSE back on my computer and now I'm back to random restarts. Files attached.

Was this that 64-bit version that was causing problems for you previously? I recommend turning Driver Verifier back on again to check things out.

Btw, I'm not sure the last time you ran Driver Verifier that you were aware of what it does. DV does not perform any tests and therefore doesn't give any 'results' or 'errors' as you mentioned before. Instead, all it does it make Windows more willing to panic (BSOD) in the event of a driver bug. Therefore the best way to use DV would be to set it all up, restart the system, then use the system normally until it crashes, then provide us the crashdump (or if it boot loops go into Safe Mode and turn off DV then send us crashdumps). The crashdumps generated by DV are more likely to provide us a solid answer than those without.

Also, to confirm DV actually is 'running', after you've restarted from setting it up - provided it isn't already boot looping - then go back into DV and select 'Display existing settings'. It should list drivers and checks that are enabled.

Yes it's the 64 bit version.

I'm pretty sure DV was turned on, but I'll check after work to make sure, and if not I'll turn it on.

Btw, one more item we'll need to progress, and that's the WGATool. Click the 'Copy' button after it's run its thing and paste it here. Recommended you use [code] tags to make it look clean.
