    Help with Dump file 0x0124

    Hi,

Got windows 7 pro 64 bit PC which has been crashing and getting BSOD regularly. Have come to a bit of a brick wall with what to try next. Replaced HDD, graphics card and PSU. Unplugged CD-Rom. Replaced ATI drivers, chipset drivers, all MB drivers. Bios is up to date with nothing overclocked. Run Memtest. All this and still the same problem.

When it Blue screens i get the 0x0124 so not much help there. If someone could look at these dump files and shed any light or what to try next much appreciated.

    Example 1:

    Hi B3njamin91,

These 'Mini-dumps' may not give conclusive information; need to have a look at 'System Logs' for more information on any possible 'Hardware failure / software corruption / bad or outdated drivers. Please download and run the 'SF_Diagnostic_Tool.exe file' as suggested in the tutorial link for better 'BSOD analysis': Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

After download, click 'Grab all' to capture the Mini-Dump, Event Logs, Update Logs, Driver List, System Information and MGDiag reports. Apart from the 'Mini dump' the information in these files is vital for investigation.

In the mean while, try to uninstall 'Sophos Anti-Virus' from the system; you may use 'Microsoft Security Essentials' to see if that helps. Also restore 'BIOS' to 'default settings' and check results.

Do reply with the information; would be glad to assist.

The first parameter or argument has the value of 0x0, which is a Machine Check Exception, which means the CPU has detected a hardware problem and the address points to a processor error because the CPU has found one, so it could be a different form of hardware which is causing the issue.

In such a situation, it is best to use these steps:

Enable "Round off checking" before the test (see first post below tutorial).

All the hardware seeming to be running stable and tests reporting no errors, could mean a bad motherboard.

Please also follow the request above also.

Yes, can you please provide us the crashdump, or at least - assuming you printed all that output with the help of Windbg - post what churns out when you type the following command:

    Code:
    !errrec fffffa80079d3028
    That's 3 'r's in !errrec, not 2.
