    BSOD after installing ubuntu, 0x0000007B

    Hi,

    I must install ubuntu to my running windows 7 pro x64 yesterday. But,
    When i'm installing -however i don't know much more thing about ubuntu, just i must install it, i wouldn't use it fully- i install "/" directory to partition that i've divided at disk management. However, my HDD was "dynamic disk" after dividing. everything begun now. But i continued to installing ubuntu. then, i set bootloader to /dev/sda partition i don't know what i thought when i'm doing this. So, windows freezes and restarting at "windows balls". I can use "startup repair" -or whatever its name- but this time i got second error. that is "0xc0000225: could not found any hard drive". Then i looked with "Easeus Partition Manager bootable cd" and i saw: these partitions named "unformatted partition". I'm using Ubuntu live cd now. ofc i'm writing with that.

    Sorry my bad english.

    I want to attach these items for may help yours;
    edit: i want to ask "how can i get windows back ?" nevermind ubuntu. i found the instruction for this. i promise i don't make this again.

    Do you still have windows installed in any of your HDD partitions?

    If the Disc is Dynamic ... how many partitions are there? A dynamic cannot boot windows.

    Download Partition Wizard bootable CD (the last one in the link). Burn it in a blank CD. Boot into it following these instructions. Then when you are on the GUI of the PW boot CD, take a camera snap of the screen (try to make the snap clear, readable) and upload that picture for us.

    I solved my problem.

    I want to write how i did it;
    I installed TestDisk program -which running both windows, linux, mac- and i wrote "boot sector" information with it.
    Bingo! It's running.

    What is the cause my problem ?
    When i installing ubuntu, GRUB -that is bootloader of ubuntu. maybe all of linuxes- overwrite boot sector information of windows.

    Yes, you are right, the problem is GRUB. GRUB sometimes may make the windows installation damaged beyond repair, so we never recommend to use GRUB, at least in the same physical disc with windows. And MBR cannot make it boot from a dynamic disc, too.

    Whatever, as it is working smoothly for you, enjoy it :) If there is any further issue, let us know.
