    BSODs - 1000007e & 116

    BSOD 116

I started suffering random BSOD 116 over the last month or so and within the last 2-3 days they have started happening multiple times.

My system is only 1 year old and should not be having these problems, I have the latest graphics drivers that I get directly from Nvidia.

It usually happens when I log into a game and has even happened browsing the net today while trying to google a fix for the BSODs.

    BSOD 1000007e

Just in the last few days I have also now got this awful 1000007e BSOD and I get it instantly if I try to plug in my WD 2 TB HD Passport.

It got to the point where I was getting a BSOD when I tried to restart my PC. It sometimes fails to restart and just beeps while the monitor goes into sleep mode or it restarts but not fully and on the monitor I see a black screen with a flashing _ in the top left corner and it stays like that until the monitor sleeps or it crashes.

    Information

I may have made it worse myself by resetting the boot mode/drive to default settings and hit F10 to save it then restarted my PC, thinking it would help with the hangs/fails to restart, it said something about secure boot keys? Have I done this?

I also changed settings in my Nvidia control panel to make PhysX dedicate to my CPU to test if it would be better performance than letting the GPU handle it.

It got so bad with BSODs that I went ahead and did a format on my PC, when I loaded Windows back ona nd started to install all my drivers and programs it started crashing again instantly when i tried to plug in my WD Passport and started beeping when I tried to restart after a few program setups and windows updates needed a restart to complete the install.

Link to my previous Dump files before the format - SkyDrive: https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=F9598...14D867BA%21115

Apart from those changes, I have not done anything that I can think of that may have caused this.

Please let me know if you need any more information and thank you in advance for taking the time to look into my problem, I appreciate it a lot!

I went to Filesystem/Device Drivers Downloads | Renesas Electronics America as you asked and I have no idea which one to get, there is 2 pages full, I tried a few but they either didn't have an auto install or wouldn't work for my PC. I also went through a ton of registration forms to allow me to download it...seemed rather odd for a driver.

I am not sure what to do for the first link Arc.

I went to the second link and downloaded
    File name:
    iata_enu.exe

But it comes up with an error at the end of the install that says: This computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install this software.

Looking at it again I saw it did not mention anything about Win 7 support or compatibility only Vista, XP and Server 2003.

I am out of luck and now starting to have windows install errors while trying to install Windows Updates...

    Hi ProdigyGamer,

You may try updating 'Renesas Electronics Corporation USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver' (As suggested by Arc) from the following link: Driver Details | Dell US (Download and install the drivers as per the on-screen instructions)

Also update the following chipset (Intel) drivers:
    Driver Details | Dell US

    Hi ProdigyGamer,

The mini-dump shared by you points at 'mbam.sys driver' causing this crash. This driver relates to 'Malware Bytes' program and it may have prevented the installation/update suspecting a possible Malware program

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION (c4)
A device driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. This is
because the driver was specified in the registry as being suspect (by the
administrator) and the kernel has enabled substantial checking of this driver.
If the driver attempts to corrupt the system, bugchecks 0xC4, 0xC1 and 0xA will
be among the most commonly seen crashes.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000062, A driver has forgotten to free its pool allocations prior to unloading.
Arg2: fffffa8021b66a28, name of the driver having the issue.
Arg3: fffffa8021b66860, verifier internal structure with driver information.
    Arg4: 0000000000000001, total # of (paged+nonpaged) allocations that weren't freed.
Type !verifier 3 drivername.sys for info on the allocations
that were leaked that caused the bugcheck.
Please remove the 'Malware Bytes' program; you may use this utility to clean-up the program: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-clean.exe > Restart the unit when prompted > Install the drivers > You may try installing the latest version of 'Malware Bytes' after the drivers are installed.

    Hope this helps.

I am having a lot of trouble getting rid of Malwarebytes, I cannot even exit out of the program or turn it off without getting a BSOD.

The removal tools gets part of the way through then sends me to BSOD, when my system auto restarts, Malwarebyes is still there and BSODs again if I try to exit out of it, close it, remove it.

I will to try in Safe Mode.

Ok I was able to remove with the tool you linked while in Safe Mode, thanks Saurabh!

I installed the driver but it didn't auto start the installation, I had to go into the Dell folder and open the correct folder then click setup.

Once that happened I clicked next and ok a few times then that was it. There was no "completed" or restart messages to say it has successfully installed, was there meant to be one?

    Hi ProdigyGamer,

Glad that you were able to remove the program successfully in 'Safe Mode'; please observe the system performance and see if an error appears.

You may verify if the currently installed 'Chipset driver' is the latest one:
Type 'device manager' in the search box > Tap 'Enter' > Click 'System devices' > Locate and right click the 'Chipset' > Click 'Properties' > Driver tab > Capture the driver version and compare it with the one that you tried installing from the links that I shared.

You may also confirm the driver version from 'dxdiag utility':
Click 'Start' > Type 'dxdiag' (without quotations) in 'Search Box' > Tap 'Enter' > Look under the 'Display' tab and look for the 'Chip Type'.

Hope this helps. Do reply with the findings.
