No hurry - I'm not planning on going anywhere

Since the files are all in the same folder, it could be that the installer deleted the folder in a misguided attempt to clean up earlier driver versions - other than that, it could simply be corruption in the folder name caused it to move, so the system doesn't find it where it should and therefore doesn't think it exists.

Hello,

I'm pretty sure that your code installed the new files.

MGAdiag report and CBS report attached. Looks like it found more corrupt files!

Thanks for taking a look.

Looks to me like something went wrong somewhere.

Please run the following commands, and post the results...

DIR C:\nvcaa /s
DIR C:\Windows\Winsxs\nvcaa

When I ran the commands:

At the prompt type
DIR C:\nvcaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\nvcaa
or
DIR E:\nvcaa

I found that I get a file not found error for Drive C but not for D. So I ran the command:

XCOPY D:\nvcaa D:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

Should I be running these commands in C drive as follows (should they be run in D: )

DIR C:\nvcaa /s
DIR C:\Windows\Winsxs\nvcaa

In normal Windows run them as written - Repair Environment doesn't necessarily boot from the C: drive so drive letters can change, which is why I post those instructions.

I see what's happened.
You didn't follow the instructions fully
Please completely delete the C:\nvcaa folder

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract

Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.
Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\nvcaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\nvcaa
or
DIR E:\nvcaa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\nvcaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link

Also run a new MGADiag report, and post the result.
