Ok. I installed SP1 two nights ago. I was really hoping to write back in a week saying you were right, no BS but alas, I just got a BS.

How do you know the RAM is the problem if you haven't analyzed the dump file?

There are tests that I can perform before the computer starts up. I did those before and got a bunch of errors in the memory section but I think I did that with the old RAM. If I run those tests again can you decipher the error codes?

    Hi roy2k

Did you replace the memory and run a memtest on those ? Anytime you get a new BSOD please upload the dmp file .

    Hi,
This suggests that you have issues with RAM/slots and your last log was inconclusive im afraid.
    Code:

I know when I put back my 4 x 1Gb RAM, my BS will go away but my computer will be slower with only 4Gb instead of 6Gb.
Run the SF Tool again as Vistaking suggested and grab all and post.

Also ensure you run Windows update now you have SP1 installed (Good job :) it will help, scouts honour)

    Cheers

I can't remember for sure if it was the Corsair or the Patriot RAM. The test I did was not with the memtest86 you gave me but the testing option you get while Windows is starting up and you hit F8 or F12. Many errors showed up and it was memory related. Not sure if you are familiar with ths Corsair RAM. It looks like a high quality product made at NASA or something. It's heavy too! Completely different than the Patriot RAM. Of course this means nothing but it makes me doubt that the RAM itself is the problem. Not to mention its my second round of brand new RAM.

I'm attaching the last two crashes.

    Thanks.

Your latest logs show the same issues previously advised on:

    Code:

    STOP 0x0000001A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
Usual causes: Device driver, memory, kernel
    Code:

For the following drivers, you have already been advised to update/remove them,
especially igdkmd64.sys as your logs show that this driver is causing BSOD issues,
These issues need to be addressed before we continue with anything else,
as we end up running in circles and double guessing ourselves :):

Hi, I tried to fix the Faulting Driver: igdkmd64.sys but when I tried using the Intel Driver Update Utility, I get this error:
The Intel Driver Update Utility installation failed.

Possible web brower compatiblity, firewall, or installation issue detected.

    Select OK to troubleshoot issue.
After the error message, it says if you have problems running the utility, to make sure yuo have the latest Java which I did but the Utility still won't run. So I am stuck at this point.

Attached is the latest dump file.

I'm downloading a bunch of updates from the Dell link that you send me to. I'm downloaing the "Urgent" and "Recommended" updates. Are these more current or better than the updates provided by Windows Update? I wonder if I am reverting to old updates if I install these. Should I install of use Windows Update?

I found this page on the site as well for diagnostic testing: Dell PC Diagnostics | Dell US I wonder if this is the same tests that I can do when Windows is starting up and I hit the F8/F12 key? Will any of these tests give you results that would help in narrowing down the cause of my problems?

    Thanks.

    Your latest crash is ntfs.sys:
    Code:

    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *

    Probably caused by : Ntfs.sys ( Ntfs!NtfsTeardownStructures+18e )
Stop: 0x00000024 generally occurs due to the following reasons

    1. The file system or partition structure is corrupted.
    2. A driver compatibility issue exists.

    Run these tests again:

Run SFC to check the integrity of all Windows 7 system files:
    • Click on Start > Type in search cmd
Right-click cmd after results are displayed and Run as Administrator
Type SFC /scannow at the prompt
(Note: There is a space between SFC and /scannow)
    SFC Tutorial

       Note
Select option two. If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately
reboot the computer after each scan.

Also run chkdsk in an elevated command prompt in order to check for file system errors and bad sectors on your HDD:

    • Click on Start>Type in search cmd
    • Right click cmd and Run as Administrator
    • At the command prompt please type: chkdsk /f/r
(There is a space between chkdsk and /f/r)
    Chkdsk Tutorial

For the Intel driver igdkmd64.sys try here:
    http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

I don't get blue screen when I run the 4Gb RAM that came with the computer (One 1Gb stick x 4 slots).
I would investigate your RAM more because if your computer runs BSOD free with the RAM
that came with the machine, then perhaps the Corsair isnt compatible in some way?

Please state your NEW RAM Specs?
Are you using dual memory? Are they in the correct slots?
Is the system overclocked at all?

    Your Dell RAM Specifications:

    Code:
    Four DDR3 DIMM sockets
    Memory-module capacities: 1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB
    Memory type: 1066-MHz or 1333-MHz DDR3 DIMM;
    non-ECC memory only
    Memory configurations supported
    4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB
    NOTE: Memory configurations of more
    than 4 GB require a 64-bit operating
    system.
Once again, please go through my previous posts and update all the drivers that are still causing issues that are still present on your system:
    Code:

    LMIRfsDriver.sys
    lmimirr.sys
    livecamv.sys
    P17.sys
Once completed run the SF Tool again after next crash and select GRAB ALL
    Post up your logs

    Cheers

    Dave

    Hi,

For your update issues try running the System Readiness tool:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858

    1. Run windows updates and install latest.
    2. Have you updated/removed any of the other drivers yet?:

    Code:

    LMIRfsDriver.sys
    lmimirr.sys
    livecamv.sys
    P17.sys
    cheers
