New BSOD playing BF3 after latest Nvidia install

    Hello,

Yesterday I installed the new Nvidia update (for Bioshock Infinite).

    I have had a BSOD playing BF3.

Please help in getting to the bottom of the BSOD.

    Thanks,

    Nevica

The error you are getting indicate there is a problem with hardware:

    Code:

    *                                                                             *

Examining the error record we can see that the error orriginated from the L2 cache on your CPU:

So with this in mind please run prime95:

    Free Software - GIMPS

    Prime95 Setup:
    - extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
    - double click on the executable file
    - select "Just stress testing"
    - select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
    - "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.
The goal of this test is to check and see if there is any overheating under a load or if you get errors during the test.

    Hi,

Thanks for the info. I had OC'D my CPU and that was the problem. It was slightly out of tune in terms of the various voltages.
I have reset and it is OK now. Thanks for looking at the files.
