    Multiple BSOD's/Errors on new build

I just built my first desktop and am getting regular BSOD's. They seem to be occurring at any point where the system would access RAM. I have, however, successfully installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and programs such as Chrome and itunes without issue. I have attached a collection of my minidump files...any assistance would be helpful. I originally intended on running 16gb of RAM but my Windows install kept bombing. I pulled out one of the 8gb sticks and the install completed. I am currently running on the 8gb. As this is my first time, I am a little confused on how to approach all of this - any direction would be helpful! Thanks in advance, Jay

Probably that stick of RAM is bad or does not match the settings of the other ram. Have you taken Memtest?

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

       Note
Pay close attention to part 3 of the tutorial in order to rule out the faulty stick.

       Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes. One error can be found after 20 passes. So be patient.

       Tip
Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

Thank you for all of your help here, I have run memtest86+ and got the following results:

I have two 8GB ram sticks and two slots on my mobo.

Configuration #1 (configuration in which I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64)
    Ram slot #1
    Ram stick #1

    Relevant errors by test:
    5 1
    6 0
    7 9
    8 65535+

    Configuration #2
    Ram slot #2
    Ram stick #1

    Relevant errors by test:
    5 1
    6 0
    7 12
    8 65535+

    Configuration #3
    Ram slot #1
    Ram stick #2

    Relevant errors by test:
    4 2
    5 0
    6 10
    7 192
    8 65535+

    Configuration #4
    Ram slot #2
    Ram stick #2

    Relevant errors by test:
    4 1
    5 0
    6 4
    7 178
    8 65535+

As you can see, I have errors all over the place and they showed up withing the first pass of earch congifuration test. Is it possible that I just happened to buy the worst set of RAM ever? Given the pattern in the errors, could this be a settings issue?

Again thank you all for your help!

    Jay

I would suspect the motherboard being bad over the RAM since all slots throw errors. It may just be a timing or voltage adjustment too. Enter BIOS, press F5, then F10 to set it to default and restart and try memtest again.

well I have an update - I reset BIOS to its defaults and kicked off memtest this morning. I was out of the house all day and when I got home the computer was off. I tried to restart it and nothing. I noticed that when I touched the case I could feel current (fairly strong) running through it...now I fear that had a bad power supply all along and now everything is fried. Any thoughts?

    1. try to check the PSU this way, Method One to see if it runs:
    PSU - How to Test

    2. If possible borrow/buy another PSU and try it.
