Can somebody point me in the right direction--win32k.sys bsods

    Hi all,

I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this correctly, and i apologize in advance if i'm not. Lately I've been getting quite a few BSODs, and though the error seems to be different each time (00000000x5 for example), all my crash dumps keep pointing me towards win32k.sys. I don't know a whole lot about computers so I don't know whats going on. I'm not sure what drivers I need to update so if somebody could point me in the right direction, that would be great. I'm not great at debugging and im sort of panicking right now.

I am running Win. 7x64 Home Premium OEM SP0. Most of my BSODS occur when I use a keyboard command in firefox (alt+f4 or ctrl+shift+t) I don't believe firefox is causing this.

    thansk all in advance

Type SFC /scannow at the prompt

    Thanks Northern,

I ran chkdsk and scannow before I uploaded my dump files, and both came out good. I updated my Atheros drivers again and the problem seems to be gone--at least for now.

But for the sake of curiosity, what is causing my win32k.sys BSOD's?

    Hi,

I would say Atheros AR9285 network adapter driver was most likely causing your BSOD's.

Be sure to update to Service Pack 1 also.

    Cheers
