System Service Exception BSOD: after reinstall after many varied BSODs

Two weeks after moving to windows 7 64bit from xp I started getting BSODs of all kinds, caused by, according to bluescreen viewer, core system files like ntoskrnl.exe and tcpip.sys and hal.dll, with messages including BAD POOL CALLER and DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. Often after rebooting before the starting windows screen there would be a message saying WARNING: an error has been detected with the hard drive, but the only disk related message I can find in the system log is with with event id 33: "The oldest shadow copy of volume C: was deleted to keep disk space usage for shadow copies of volume C: below the user defined limit." And all the hard drive diagnostics I have used have passed the harddrives. The BSODs often happened when I wasn't at the computer.

So I did a clean (re) install and the day after I get this System Service Exception BSOD which Blue Screen Viewer says is caused by ntoskrnl.exe. The event with id 33 is still occurring in the logs.

Hoping someone can help

Norton is known to cause BSODs, please remove using the official removal tools, and install these free alternatives which have been proven for stability and much lower consumption of system resources:Install and perform full scans with:

Remember to install the free version of Malwarebytes not the free trail; untick the free trial box during installation. MSE is the most lightweight and compatible with the Windows 7 operating system

You can also view this thread for a complete free and lightweight security protection combination:Run Driver Verifier to scan for any corrupted drivers which may be causing problems, this program works by running various stress tests on drivers, in order to produce a BSOD which will locate the driver; run for least 24 hours:

tentative recovery

Many thanks, have removed and replaced Norton which has also cheered up immensely the connection from the wireless usb adapter to the router which was becoming intermittent. And much less hard drive activity. So far today no more disconnections or BSODs so touch would won't have to do driver verifier unless things get bad again.

Did that and haven't had any more blue screens so far. That fits because several of the earlier blue screens happened at the point of opening a browser. Here's hoping that's hit the nail on the head and thank you very much indeed.

Kid at Christmas

That's fantastic, it works: no more blue screens and no more wireless connection trouble. So relieved I don't have to replace the machine or bits of it. Thank you very much again
