BSOD, computer freeze & 100% CPU usage randomly since a week

    Hi,
Since a week I have been experiencing BSOD randomly and also experiencing system freezes with the cpu usage hitting 100%. Even while I am trying to just delete a file I have experienced BSOD...!!!! Don't know whats happening. Even my Kaspersky antivirus is acting weirdly because earlier I could smoothly perform scans but yesterday when I was trying to scan my laptop it was not smooth as the scan was getting stuck at some point not the same point every time because restarted a couple of times when it was getting stuck. But I did complete a few scans in Safe Mode so I am confident I am not infected with a Virus. Do I need to go into the background of the problems with my laptop ? Because 3 months back I changed my motherboard because of the ATI card failure and went from DDR2 to DDR3 motherboard even back then I used to get BSOD but with atisys. error. But this time its different.

    Thanks for Support

Hello mouzam, The BSOD is caused by Klif Mini-Filter fre_wnet_x86 (Kaspersky).
    Code:
    fffff880`0c0ff2e8 fffff880`0215014bUnable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\klif.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for klif.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for klif.sys
     klif+0x1714b
Description here: Driver Reference Table - klif.sys

Uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver, SynTPEnh.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

    Let us know the results.

    Hi Arc,
I purchased kaspersky antivirus 3 months back and since then I never had such issues so why now ? I will uninstall and do as you have adviced, will do full system scan one-by-one. And what could be the reason for stuck-up's ? Even when I select a bunch of files and try to delete them or just do any thing the system hangs and I am have to force system shutdown. CPU usage hits 100%...

Please Advice....Thank you..!!! will let you know the results...!! :)

Mouzam, I cannot say "why" with certainty, but I can say that sometimes it happens. I have noticed a lot of similar instances Your bad luck there. Coz it mostly works nice.

After removing it, if the CPU usage shows the similar, we will try to troubleshoot it. OK? :)

Boot to System Recovery Options . Try Safe Mode with Command Prompt. In the command prompt .... enter the command ....

    start msconfig

It will open the system configuration window, with the "general" tab selected.

    • Click the "startup" tab. Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK.
    • Click on "services" tab. Check the "Hide all Microsoft Services"; Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK

Then try to boot again normally. Is it failing still?

If so, boot to System Recovery Options once again. Try Enable Boot Logging. It will create a file named ntbtlog.txt. Collect it and upload it. If you cannot do it within windows, Boot with a live Linux disc and collect it in a USB stick, use the usb stick in another computer and upload it. It is necessary.

Here they are. But when I took these screen shots the CPU usage was not 100%.

I never said I have problem booting into system. The only problem I am facing right now is stuck ups while doing something.
