    BSOD while playing games

EDIT: Thread was merged, there is a new problem at the bottom of this thread.

I've gotten 3 blue screens of death in the last week, playing games and thought nothing of it, but it's getting a bit suspicious now. Could anybody help with my problem? Here is my error report:

    BCP4: FFFFFA800D2F5E70
    OS Version: 6_1_7601

    Thank you.

The driver for the Wireless Xbox 360 Controller is rather outdated and causing problems, update it from here:

    Code:
    6: kd> lmvm atikmdag
    start end module name

Your graphics driver is also rather outdated, it best to update the driver. Use the Automatic Detection program provided on the Support Page, and you may untick the option to install the Catalyst Control Centre.

Thanks BlueRobot. I installed the latest controller drivers, but it says my graphics card drivers are up to date and I cannot find a newer driver. Also, I've read problems about MotionInJoy causing Blue Screens due to drivers, so maybe that's what's going on, since I've started to use it for my games when I play.

You'll have latest graphics drivers then, they just seemed a little outdated, and good job with updating the controller drivers. Post back if you have any more BSODs.

Random Blue Screen while opening game

I got a blue screen while opening the launcher for Guild Wars 2. After that, my computer wouldn't start up properly and I needed to restore it to an earlier state. Some help would be nice, thanks. My info is attached.

The same driver is being blamed as before, however, is most probably because the System Restore has restored you back to when the driver wasn't updated. Update this driver first.

The computer not being able boot properly, is commonly due to a either failing hard-drive or failing RAM.

Run Memtest86+ for least 9-10 passes, and preferably overnight as it can take a while to fully complete.

Test each RAM stick individually, if an error is found then move the same RAM stick into the next DIMM slot and test again, if errors are found for the same RAM stick in every available slot then you have a faulty RAM module. On the other hand, if no errors are found in the next slot or the other slots for the same RAM module, then you have a faulty DIMM slot.

Test each RAM stick and every motherboard DIMM slot available.

    Arc said:
No code has to be inserted here. It is a RAM, a bad RAM.

But if you have got a result like that:
No code has to be inserted here. It is a motherboard issue. The particular slot is bad.
