Is backup already finished and succesfull? Did it go slow as well on some spots of disk?
Burn ISO just as any other ISO. Never done it before? Do you have a working win7 machine? If you have a working win7 machine
Most of the time just double click on ISO works as well.
- download ISO (cd image)
- right click on ISO->open with ->"windows dvd burner" (or something like that)

I've done burning before. I was just wondering so I don't waste a disc by finding out I should've gone through a different channel, that's all.
As for the backup, it's still going. I'm just getting this disc ready while I wait.
You better do it on another system! Maybe your disc is faulty... and writes wrong to disk or reads wrong from disk. If no other machine... do it on the faulty machine... but be sure "verify disc after burn" has been checked!
Is backup running smoothly, or does it slow down every now and then? How many minutes till backup finishes?
It just stopped.
"Unable to read from disk - Error Code 1117 - The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."
It happened while Macrium was trying to save the partition for the C (OS) drive.

install macrium reflect free in win7 Macrium Reflect Free - CNET Download.com
run macirum reflect from within win7. then "Other tasks"-> edit defaults->click button ADVANCED. put checkmark at "ignore bad sectors when creating images" , press OK. (winpe version doesn't have the option) Don't forget to reset that if system is fine again!
Now make the backup. You see "disk image"-"restore"-log next to each other. If backup has been doen.. click on log and check all the logs. Maybe you can see how many bad sectors and which files were bad!
Alright, I'll download it to a USB stick and try to install it on the sick computer.
Watch carefully at the logs! Maybe it tells you how much diskspace is faulty. I hope you can install and run it. And it completes.... things it can't read...bad luck. Save as much as possible. But it must finish succesfully (so a valid image without the unreadable blocks).
After that run the hitachi disk test do this:
first "quick test". If succesfull "ext test". Does "ext test" always give errors on same spot? Can it repair it?
Always same spot and unrepairable... then disk is faulty.
Every time on other spot.... controller is faulty or cable.
In case your harddisk is damaged you have to buy a new one and attach it to system (throw away old one)

You can adjust the "restored partition properties". For example make OS as large as whole disk.

Assuming you are restoring to a used disk and wish to delete all old partitions then click on each partition in turn in the Destination and then click on 'Delete Existing partition' repeat for each partition you are deleting.
You can also use drag and drop.
All very straight forward.

If all went fine... system will boot without issues, although the bad things aren't restored!
Try sfc/scannow in elevated command prompt to fix some things
And do Repair Install override system stuff (so replace corrupt stuff)
The installer doesn't seem to want to load in Safe Mode. The Windows Installer window pops up, disappears after not even a second, and there's no disk activity to suggest the installer is even loading.
