Yeah, I know. I am using a cooling pad.

In general the heat isn't a problem. But when a BSOD occurs or your laptop is stuck on a certain process, he'll get hotter and hotter. And that was what I meant with my previous post. No BSOD appeared, just a black screen but he was getting hotter and hotter. So is it possible that there is something wrong with my laptop's ability to show BSODs ? (disabled service or so I don't know) Or isn't that possible ?

Yeah I think so, can't really find it on the asus site though. But I bought it in october 2011 and I think it was 2 years of warranty. Do I need to put the original OS on my laptop again (back-up DVDs) ? Or doesn't it matter as long as it's a legal version of Windows ?

You can follow the steps outlined in this tutorial for a clean install to see if that solves your sleep issue: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 but otherwise I think your threads gonna end up like this one. Think of the warranty before it's out.

Keep us posted.

Hey all.

It's been quite a while, but at the start of september this year I had decided to bring my laptop back to the store to have it looked at by asus. (My warranty expired 11th of october)

There has been going on quite a lot since then..

1) First time I got my laptop back (week later orso) they replaced the hard disk, but the problem still isn't solved.
2) I brought it back to the store, 2 weeks later I had it back. Now they replaced the motherboard, but the problem still isn't solved. Even more, my laptop crashes / freezes now even when I'm not using sleep/hibernate mode.
3) Brought it back to the store again, got it back since a couple of days now. They replaced the DC component on the motherboard this time. But the problem still isn't solved... It's even worse than before. I can't do anything anymore, it constantly freezes / crashes. (Even in safe mode)

I decided to try a clean Windows 8.1 install. But no luck, it froze sometimes during the install and after the install I can't get to desktop. It just hangs / freezes after reboot. And after a long time I get the BSOD: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION..

Sorry to bring this post back up so late, but I'm really desperate atm. Hope anyone can help.
