Computer stuck on windows logo screen

What do you mean by saying "repair windows program"?

So you get a BSOD every time you boot normally? You se win7 animation pritor to that? Is bsod before or after logon? Tell us the stopcode and all programs listed there.... for example ntfs.sys

There was only the one BSOD last night, whever I try to start the computer (in safe mode or not) it gets to the windows animation and stays there.

By repair program I mean, I click F8 at startup until i get to the little list where on the top the option is "Repair Windows".

Hey benjy, I would supply what is needed. But I only got the one BSOD last night, now the problem is that I cant get past the windows animation. I get no errors, but whenever I restart the computer it allways ends up on the screen where you have to choose between normal startup or safe mode startup. No matter what I choose to do the PC freezes at some point and I have to force shutdown the PC.

I may have forgot to mention, I AM able to enter the BIOS. Is there anything I can do from there to provide you with the information you need?

If you select "repair windows" you see somthing like "loading files" and some progress bar. Does that crash, freeze or just keeps loading forever? Or something else?

It's just a load of 1 file called C:\Recovery\b6402860-66bf-11e2-a3b8-c16f60780db1\Winre.wim
b6402860-66bf-11e2-a3b8-c16f60780db1 is different in your case. It's sort of zip file with all real files in it. So it doesn't load the real win7 files at all!! So it must work.

• A faulty controller
• A faulty harddisk
• Faulty memory
• Some other hardware error

Try load windows recovery environment from DVD instead!

On the "Repair Windows" screen it does complete the "Loading Files" screen but then it goes black and nothing happends. No new programs have been installed lately so it shouldnt be a malware or virus problem. Both the HDDs appear in the BIOS, and if there was a problem with those it should have appeared sooner I would guess? I have never had a problem with the RAM bricks either.
I would load windows recovery from a CD but I dont have one.
I'm working in an electronic store so I was thinking of getting a win8 and see if a complete reinstall fixes the problem.

Okey so my options are to download this to another computer and then transfere it over on a DVD?

No, the screen is completely black. There is nothing on the screen after repair mode.
I'm not familiar with the different "codes" you guys use for this. Is there anything else I need to do than downloading --> Burning to a DVD --> Then reinstall windows from the disk?
