Started getting different BSOD on Startup without doing anything

    Hi all

I have recently started to get regular BSOD when i start my PC for the 1st time on a day.
I decided to install a fresh windows 7 on my spare HDD just to eliminate any potential driver update errors or programs that may cause BSOD.
It seems to only be on a fresh startup for the day which makes me think it might be a hardware issue (hope it isn't).
Have attached files from most recent BSOD which is on the totally fresh Windows 7 which only has the most basic programs i need to get by on it.

    Hi,

I would recommend updating Windows 7 to Service Pack 1, and then applying all updates it offers after that. Then see if you still get any BSOD's.

I have spent the last couple of days trying to update everything I possibly can however it now blue screens halfway through trying to update.

I tried replacing the video card just to test if that was thep problem however this made no difference and I get alot of different blue screes from irql ones to system exception to pfn corrupt to page fault.

The latest concern is it wont even let me get into windows in safe mode which makes me think that it must be a hardware problem.

Is there Anything I may be able to do for this or is it time to take it in to get looked at?

Upload the latest DMP files, and we'll take a look.

I would love to post my dmp files but I can't even manage to post before I blue screen I even managed to get an error saying about overclocking my pc which I have never done. I will try and post my dump files if I get a chance. It won't even let me get into safe mode to post anything.

I think I may just have to get a pc technician to have a look since I can't even get into windows Long enough to post

    Hi,

    From your logs:

    STOP 0x0000007E: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Usual causes: Insufficient disk space, Device driver, Video card, BIOS, Breakpoint with no debugger attached, Hardware incompatibility, Faulty system service, Memory, 3rd party remote control

    Code:

    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *

    Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MiGatherMappedPages+11e )
Have you installed any new hardware recently? I know you have issues updating,
skip to the tests first (at bottom) and see if you recieve any errors?)
If you can't run memtest, remove all RAM and leave 1 stick in 1st slot, can you boot now
    into safe-mode/normal mode?
Failing that try a start-up repair using a System Repair Disk or your Win 7 installation disk.

Also this tutorial may help: Troubleshooting Windows failure to boot

    Once you can boot normally:

Please install Windows Service Pack 1 as it will increase system stability as Golden suggested.
Then once installed please run Windows Updates and install all the latest updates
(with exception of Graphic card drivers).

    Install-windows-7-service-pack-1
    Service-packs-download

You need to uninstall or update this driver:

    Code:

    Driver: ASACPI.sys
    Dated: Mon Mar 28 03:30:36 2005
Refers to: Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker in Win7 and Win8).
Also a part of many Asus utilities.
If you cannot locate the program, try manually disabling the driver:

    Navigate to:

    C:\windows\system32\drivers
Locate the ASACPI.sys driver and rename to ASACPI.sys.old
    Reboot.

You log suggests this driver is contributing to your BSOD'S:
    Driver: Rt64win7.sys
    Dated: Thu Feb 26 09:04:13 2009
Refers to: Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC
    Update Website: Realtek

Please update your Video drivers to the latest version:

    Driver: atikmdag.sys
    Dated: Wed Apr 20 02:53:29 2011
    Refers to: ATI Video drivers
    Update Web-site: http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx
Note: only install the Display Driver

Run these tests and post back results:

SFC to check the integrity of all Windows 7 system files:
    • Click on Start > Type in search cmd
Right-click cmd after results are displayed and Run as Administrator
Type SFC /scannow at the prompt
(Note: There is a space between SFC and /scannow)
    SFC Tutorial

       Note
Select option two. If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately
reboot the computer after each scan.

Also run chkdsk in an elevated command prompt in order to check for file system errors and bad sectors on your HDD:

    • Click on Start>Type in search cmd
    • Right click cmd and Run as Administrator
    • At the command prompt please type: chkdsk /f/r
(There is a space between chkdsk and /f/r)
    Chkdsk Tutorial

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

    Memtest
       Tip
    Run these tests overnight

Post back any results and observations
    cheers
    Dave

I had found what I thought may have been the culprit in that my windows partition didn't have enough memory so I assumed that it wasn't working because it was trying to update windows without enough space. After thinking that this had fixed the problem and no blue screens for the rest of the night I have since used my pc and it has blue screened a couple of times.

I'm trying carefully to get into windows so Ican at least somehow get SP1 installed somehow.

In answering your earlier question no I have not installed any new hardware in about 6 months and the only thin I can think of that I have updated would have been windows updates and maybe video card.

Even if I have managed to get into windows the updates seem to get stuck on 0% when they are meant to be downloading I get the error code 80073712 from the windows updater

Well after using the pc for a whole night with blue screen I thought I may have solved it. But there must still be a driver conflict somewhere because 1st time I log on this morning the blue screens start again

I will try run those tests once I can get into windows again

It won't even let me boot into safe mode now and yeah I did try startup repair if it doesn't crash itself
