Upload the CBS.log file . Click on Go Advanced button below the Message box . Scroll down click on Manage Attachment button . On the pop-up window click on the Browse button and navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\ upload the file CBS.log by clicking on the Open button once you navigate to the file . I'll have to put it in a .zip file, it's 3.31 mb in size which exceeds the 2mb limit.

I see, that might be very helpful.

In other news, I just had another bluescreen. Oddly enough, I was actually watching a few episodes of Doctor Who on my television (not connected to my laptop in any way) and only had a few tabs open in Firefox while doing so. One was on Wikipedia, the other was on this topic's page. Then a BSOD happened.

EDIT: I returned to the system restore of 29 April. We'll see if it improves my situation.

Most impressive! The instructions worked smooth and quickly. The result should be below.

I was chatting on Steam, and had just unplugged my wireless receiver for my 360 controller, until only moments after, I got another bluescreen. Would this dump confirm the two are connected? (unplugging the controller and the bsod)

EDIT: I unplugged it at a later time, watching a youtube video of 8 minutes, and by the time I watched it a second time and reached bout 2-3 minutes, I had another bluescreen. I didn't let it create a dump this time though, since my patience was running thin that night.

    Hi RJtheShadow,

SFCFix has done its work so, in theory, you should be free from file corruption now. Let's double check this before we move on:

    SFC Scan

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
    3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

      sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

      copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

    4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

I'm no expert on BSOD analysis but your dump is indicating that Steam crashed your computer so yes, it's very likely that the two are connected. I'll ask a BSOD analyst to come and take a look at this for you as soon as we get the all clear back from the SFC scan.

    Tom
