    Constant BSODs after install WU

Could someone look at these please? I am perfectly stable until today when I installed 14 Windows Updates. Now I get constant BSOds. I can't even start without a BSOD. I have restored an image taken just before the installation of the WU, and still get them. I've tried a system restore also, with no help. I intend to do a clean install, but would still like to know the problem. I am in safe mode now. Thanks for any help.

Most of the BSODs seem to be related to either drivers make incorrect memory operations, such as referencing invalid memory addresses or the memory itself being at fault.

I noticed your nVidia graphics driver in one of the raw stack texts:

    Code:
    6: kd> lmvm nvlddmkm
    start end module name
    fffff880`05a55000 fffff880`06500000 nvlddmkm T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: nvlddmkm.sys
        Image path: nvlddmkm.sys
        Image name: nvlddmkm.sys
        Timestamp: Fri Mar 15 01:37:00 2013 (51427B3C)
        CheckSum: 00A8D47C
        ImageSize: 00AAB000
        Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
I will report back if I find anything else in the dumps :)

That's a mess, Steve, but before suggesting anything, I would request you to please upload your MSINFO32.nfo file. Some updates are conflicting with a few drivers, and those are to be pointed out. Checking the msinfo is the first step for that.

    1. Click on the start button
    2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
    3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
    4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
    5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

I am honored, and if I could help you anyhow, that will be my highest pleasure :)

EDIT: Fro the time being, update the asmedia drivers, specially the USB drivers, and if possible the storage drivers too. http://www.asmedia.com.tw/eng/e_prod...3&cate_index=0

Arc, I am on a backup OS I have, I can't get into my regular OS, but this is the msinfo from the backup OS. It was done a few minutes before I installed the updates. If you need me to, I'll boot into my regular OS in safe mode and send the msinfo32. Just let me know.

Here is from my regular OS. I tried startup repair. It said it couldn't repair it, but it booted anyway, so here.

Harry may be onto something....perhaps rolling back the Nividia drivers to the previous ones may help?

    cheers

Arc, they don't list my controller. I have a 106X sata controller and a XHCI USB controller. These are the latest drivers from Asus' website.

No more file is needed till now :) I was checking if you use any wifi dongle or not. Apparently you use the nice intel gigabit connection only. Please check for any possible updates.

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

But the Asmedia updates are vital. not only the SATA controller one, but also the xHCI.

Update those in safe mode. Then try to boot into your OS in normal mode. If failed, boot back to safe mode, disable all non microsoft services and try again.

I will go to bed, but Harry and Dave are active now, they can continue as same as me. I will see it at the morning again :)

Get the xHCI from Asmedia's site. It appears to be old, and the most frequent issue is revealing in the dumps are USB.

Harry and Dave. I am running the latest WHQL drivers. I am downloading the older version of the WHQL driver now and will update to that, if you think I should. It is 314.07 I have 314.22 now. I have nothing to roll back to. I did a very clean install!

Thanks Arc. See you in the morning. I really wanted to know what happened. I can and intend to do a clean install. It is usually quicker than chasing down and trying to fix the problem, don't you think?
