Hello Folks. I followed the instructions vis-à-vis the SF grab all procedure and all went as indicated except there was no file generated on my desktop - not even for ready money! Any suggestions?

Did you reconfigure windows to collect the correct info?
You want small memory dumps - "MiniDumps"

Failing that navigate to:

C:\windows\minidump

See if the .dmp files are present and post them up.

There are two .dmp files at C:\windows\minidump from the two BSODs I've had in the last couple of days but I can't open them, they won't copy to this message and they are not listed as suitable files for attachment. I'm stumbling around in the dark here, I'm afraid.

You need not to open them.

Copy them to desktop, zip them, and upload the zip here.

A little light has just gone on; here are the zipped mini-dump files; although what I am supposed to do next remains obscure. Is there someone out there who opens and reads these files and understands what the BSOD was all about? This is a dark art, isn't it? If I could open them myself would I see anything I might possibly understand?

To draw meaningful inferences from those, you have to do some more things.

OK, starting, as ever, at the beginning: initially, I ran the SF tool and it went through all of the anticipated steps (as described in the tutorial) and came to the end, but there was no file posted on the desktop which was why I went directly (as you suggested Dave) to C:\windows\minidump.
I don’t have Videopad on the system: all I actually use (and consequently loaded in the beginning) is the Debut app for recording from the screen. There were a bunch of ‘quick-load’ options offered which I recently deleted - so therein may lie the problem. I’ve downloaded the latest software as mine was a few weeks out of date. Up untill last week I was using Debut regularly for almost a year without incident.
The Saitek drivers and software are a total mystery: I don’t have anything to do with Saitek (at least that I am aware of).
I recently acquired a new sound-card (USB outboard) from Sound-blaster/Creative and loaded all the updated software required (less than two weeks ago). I am in-putting the USB 2 from the soundcard into a USB 3 input but I understood that was acceptable.
Regarding the motherboard: I didn’t see anything on their site regarding updates; they are offering 46 files for all the onboard facilities but there is no indication that they are updates so I’ve left them alone.
I’m not over-clocking the system (strangely enough) as I don’t understand why I would need to; but then I don’t play games: not even in Las Vegas.
Maybe the NCH update will do it; I’ll give it some time and see.
Thank-you, Dave, for great help yet again. If any of the above sets off any alarms I’d be grateful if you’d alert me.

I maybe able to narrow things down, if you post the following information:

Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this:
Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
-> When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
-> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
-> Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.
