    random BSOD on sleep

    Hi guys,

When I put the pc to sleep, it'll go through the motions(black out my screen). I'll wait maybe 10 minutes, and then I get the blue screen.

It's done it for as long as I can remember, but very rarely,so it did't bother me. But it's become alarmingly common.

I tested the memory through windows memory check. I also checked my hard disk. All came back ok. All of the drivers have been updated to the latest that Acer has provided. It's being so random,I'm not sure what causes the BOSD.

My laptop is a Acer 4750G,with intel i5-2450m, 6GB RAM. I read some similar threads, but I can not locate the cause.

I am hoping you guys will be able to find the root cause. Thanks in advance for all the help.

    Hi -

    Problematic software:
McAfee is a very frequent cause of BSOD's.
    Code:
Start Menu\Programs\McAfee Family Protection	Public:Start Menu\Programs\McAfee Family Protection	Public
Please remove it using its removal tool from here: Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software - ESET Knowledgebase

We recommended Microsoft Security Essentials from a strict BSOD perspective. Is most compatible & provides most stability compared to other antivirus app/Internet Security Software.

       Warning
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

    Drivers:

Update the following driver in this method - Driver Reference Table - k57nd60a.sys
Sometimes drivers remain, not completely uninstalled. Follow this tutorial for complete removal of drivers of the particular program:
    Code:
    !irp fffffa8005f6bc50
Irp is active with 4 stacks 3 is current (= 0xfffffa8005f6bdb0)

    Analysis
Perform a System File Check to check the integrity of all protected Windows 7 :
    1. Click on the start
    2. Type CMD on Search
    3. Left click and Run as Administrator
    4. Type
      Code:
      SFC /scannow

    Full tutorial here:

Check your hard drive(s) for errors by running chkdsk

Number down items at start-up. Keep only your anti-virus, this also improves the time for logging into windows.

I'll try all solutions and report back to see if any fix the issue; might take a while as the problem is a radom one. Now I've uninstall the Mcafee. By far it seems back to normal.

    I think it's fixed.
By far my pc works well. And I did a test. I installed Mcafee, my pc can't sleep again. Then I uninstalled it ,my pc got back to normal. So the cause is Mcafee, I think.
    Thank you a lot!:)

Excuse me. The same question come to me again. I installed the MSE, also try Avira. But still unsolved. Really looking forward to your reply, and thanks in advance.

You shouldn't run two Antivirus software together. Q: Is it bad to run multiple antivirus programs?

Please uninstall Avira with its removal tool: Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software and keep MSE only.

    Code:

I don't install both of them. I first install the MSE and find the problem. Then I uninstall it and install the Avira. Now I am using Avira but the problem remains. And I can't find the drivers you informed. Where can I download it ?
