BSOD after automatic shutdown due to overheating processor

    What happened ?

Was rendering a videoclip, processor got too hot and computer shut off. After rebooting I got this :

In my first attemp to repair this problem I encountered the problem discribed in

    https://www.sevenforums.com/backup-restore/274204-enable-system-protection-local-disk-c-cmd.html
I do have a few restore points, but no system image
This seems to be fixed, but still couldn't boot.
I tried the bootrec commands, chksdk's RAMtest : all OK

So : this is where I am now when I do a "normal" boot:

STOP c000021a Fatal System Error (BSOD)
    --------------------------------
Verification of a knownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpected with a status of 0x000012F
    (0x009831a0 0x00000000)
    System has been shut down.
[REM] after a while :beeping mobo > same sound as overheating processor (maybe processor very busy ?)

    Boot with bootdisk.
    -------------------
    - Advanced Boot Options
    Safe Mode.
    System Recovery options
    Select keyboard
Choose OS : Windows 7 Ultimate (recovered), 57138MB, (C:)Local disk
    RESTART COMPUTER TO COMPLETE REPAIRS
    Finish (to restart immediatly)

    Boot from HD
    ------------
    STOP c000021a Fatal System Error
Verification of a knownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpected with a status of 0x000012F
    (0x00f18f20 0x00000000)
    System has been shut down.
[REM] beeping mobo > same sound as overheating processor

    Boot with bootdisk.
    -------------------
    - Advanced Boot Options
    System Recovery options
    Select keyboard
Choose OS : Windows 7 Ultimate (recovered), 57138MB, (D:)Local disk
Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automaticly
    System Restore
    chose for last restore point.
chose Programs (E:) and Local Disk (C:)
SYSTEM RESTORE DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESFULLY
details : failed while scanning file system on drive D:\
    drive might be corrupt...
    error during system Restore (0x80070057)
(same problem with other restore points)

    goto http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/system-restore-error-
    0x80070057/0b8c7c81-3fe9-4d43-8369-1a41a5756171

    > Boot from CD, goto DOS prompt typed : sfc /scannow
    a system repair pending....
    > EXIT

Never had any heat problems while doing all these tests (exept on BSOD), so most likely processor =OK
    What now ?

ps : thanks in advance !

For a STOP 0xc000021a, you should try to boot into Advanced Boot Options and choose Last Know Good Configuration (advanced).

Even if it also fails, can you boot into safe mode? If so, then stress test the CPU in safe mode.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Here is a list of beep codes based on BIOS vendor.
    Computer POST and beep codes
It will help you to identify the issue by determining the POST beep codes.

    Let us know the results.

    Wow ! what a fast reply ! thanksalot !
but ... I assume I can't do the stress test because I can't get into windows at all... When I boot from HD, I see the colored windows logo for a few seconds and then : BSOD
I have been testing and trying for the last two days, and the processor never failed, also several RAMemory tests passed succesfully, so I think that there's nothing wrong with any of the hardware...

Maybe one more odd thing : in DOS I find my OS on D: although I'm absolutely sure I've installed it on C:
when I DIR c: I see what is (was) on my E: drive. DIR D: is my system partition. Also all other partitions changed names in DOS.
Maybe somehow I have to rename my D: (what seems to contain the OS) to C: ?
But I'm not sure how to do that without loosing stuff ...
I'll first try (again) the Last Know Good Configuration.
    I'll keep in touch !

    Thanks again !

    PS :
When I look in the problem details (in Startup repair) there is one thing that draws my attention :
    Problem signature 07: MissingBootManager...

    OK.
Last Know Good Configuration gives me

STOP c000021a Fatal System Error (BSOD)
    --------------------------------
Verification of a knownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpected with a status of 0x000012F
    (0x00712100 0x00000000)
    System has been shut down.

I restarted the computer normally (from HD) and did the startup repair. I got the message : Windows cannot repair this computer automatically.
I went through the "Diagnosis and repair details and everything seemed to be OK (all error codes 0x0). At the end I read:

    Root cause found :
    ---------------------
Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem

Might this be a hint to get my computer back on the road again (without having to reinstall windows and all programs)?

    thanks in advance !

I went further and tried system restore.
After a while I got the message :

    rstrui.exe - Application error

The instruction at 0xfc0eca53 referenced memory at 0x0dd8ff94.
The memory could not be read
Click on OK to terminate program

My next step will be Windows Memory Diagnostic.

Thanks, Gregrocker, but I cleaned (vacuumed) the processor and all fans just two weeks ago, and the computer is NOT in a dusty enviroment (eg : no carpets on floor...)
I do know how to vacuum PC's. (eg : prevent fans from spinning while vacuuming etc ...)
    Nevertheless thanks ! I'm running a memtest now ...
