BSOD: Driver power State Failure

If you haven't been able to install the graphics driver, your graphics card won't show up. Could you get into bios and look to see if bios recognizes your graphics card? Also while there please look at the Hardware Monitor and tell me the readings of the +12v, +5V and the +3.3V. Are you having more problems on a cold boot or after the computer has been running for a while?

Have you followed DSprague's suggestion about driver update?

I guess this is a ACPI related issue.

Set the BIOS to default. Follow the third method, rplacing the battery.
How To Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS)
Hope it will let you boot, with all the hardware recognized.

Then, Disable hibernate. Also set the computer to never sleep.

Also, follow Power Plan Settings - Change
At step 5, Expand PCI Express > Link State Power Management > Settings > Set it to "off" > Apply> OK.

cOnvict, what is the make and model of this computer? It doesn't seem to be the one listed in your specs, since you state that, in addition to Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000, it also has a GT555M card, which is for laptops/netbooks. In many cases, the card only comes into play when high demand is placed on the graphics sub-system, in which case the switch between the 2 is generally seamless (in some cases, this can be enabled or disabled, so check your manual).

Have you tried removing the memory and only running the computer on 1 stick of RAM (you will need to try all sticks individually in each slot) ? Sometimes, corrupt memory can give rise to errors (remember that drivers and everything that the computer is currently executing must reside in the RAM).

Dwarf, in my best guess, his is not a Desktop as stated in the specs, it seems to be MSI Global ? Notebook & Tablet - GE620DX. Though my estimation may be wrong.

The motherboard is MSI MS16G5 intel integration laptop motherboard

Hello convict. If you can run the computer now woth all hardware recognised, you need not to replace the battery.

Let us know how it is running after making all the changes.

Depending on the situation, we will try to bring the sleep settings back, as the existing situation will go heavy on the battery.

Are you under warranty? If so, contract the vendor. May be the GPU is getting a loose connection.

Also after installing the new graphics card driver, every time i shut down, it would install the same two windows update. I've followed the following solution and that seems to have been fixed:

The good thing is that on startup, my laptop seems to be booting fine now and i've had now BSODs since the latest one posted on this forum :)

Another suggestion would be when the Nvidia control panel says thre is no graphics card, go to device manager and expand display adaptor and see if it is listed there. But, with the problems you are having, I second Arc's suggestion.
