I had considered leaving it at Best Buy so they could run some diagnostics on the unit to see if the Motherboard or other components were also bad, but it would have taken a week. We also noticed that some sort of decal fell off a component and was laying on the motherboard, which at the time when we saw it thought it may have shorted the motherboard. I think the decal came off the GPU.

So far everything seems to be working correctly.

I've manually put the computer to sleep and let the timer put the computer to sleep, its working fine now when it comes out of sleep mode. Possibly the ports plus issues with the video card may have been the culprit. Its all good now. Thanks for your help! :)

Observe it for a few more days, and then report us back.

Do you think the board is starting to fail? I'm not sure I'd want to wait a week to have diagnostics run on it, but unless there is some way to test it what other option would I have?

Motherboards cannot be tested other than swapping. But if the PnP devices work good in some slot and fail in another slot, it is the faulty motherboard. Giving a verdict is hard, but it can be said.

I found an Asus Diagnostic test and all the components passed the testing, but as you mentioned there is the possibility that its still a bad board. Thanks.
