Any more BSODs in between?

BTW, how old the computer is?

With DV installed, I wasn't able to get to the desktop - ironically, getting a BSOD! Managed to catch part of the info on it and it was about "DV couldn't verify a driver as it booted" (not the exact wording, but that was the gist)

Tried going into Safe Mode, but wouldn't so had to do a System Restore......

Apart from when DV installed, no other BSOD's apart from 1 about 2/3 days ago....... there has been the odd system lock up, but it clears itself after approx. 10 seconds.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.

Lol - talk about ironic! PC just froze and only way out was to hard reset it. Was browsing the web, and then screen locked but the mouse continued to move for a further 10 seconds.

Just going to clear out the startup, as you suggested.... Should I also keep my keyboard driver or get rid aswell?

Oh, and PC is approx 2.5 years old in total.... Manage to buy the guts of it from someone who likes to pay through the nose to keep the latest stuff in his possession.

upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
  1. Click on the start button
  2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
  3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
  4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
  5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

I think it is the keyboard that is causing issues at startup. The description of the keyboard ....

ITEMVALUE
Description HID Keyboard Device
Name Enhanced (101- or 102-key)
PNP Device ID HID\JUMITECH&COL03\1&2D595CA7&0&0002

and the driver is extremely old.
Code:
fffff880`086d4000 fffff880`086d6100 jumi (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\jumi.sys
    Image name: jumi.sys

    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
I would suggest you to get a new keyboard. May be a simpler one, with not many remote control facilities.

The network driver, Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller is similarly old.
Code:
fffff880`07800000 fffff880`07864000 yk62x64 (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\yk62x64.sys
    Image name: yk62x64.sys
    Timestamp: Wed May 20 13:44:06 2009 (4A13BBCE)
    CheckSum: 00063E08
    ImageSize: 00064000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Update it from Marvell - Support .

Let us know the results when done.
