If you know the update caused it, remove it. Updates create a Restore point, roll back to before the update then hide it afterwards.
Spotify doesn't have to run, it's on your system. Just letting you know what has been seen in the past.

Randomly shuts off.

Alright, so now it's randomly shutting off the power. It happens at around six PM. Just shuts off. No bluescreen is shown, yet since I've configured it to create more dumps, it logged an Event 41 in my Event log. It's not overheating because I've been monitoring it, yet it's doing it. I don't know what's going on, but this is really annoying. When it shuts off, it WON'T come back on. It just did it a few minutes ago. Help please? I scanned for malware and viruses, none are on here. I did an RAM test, and it's okay. I really hope it's not anything with the motherboard... I have noticed it's doing it at a certain time of the day. Spotify is NOT running when it's doing this.

-Edit- Okay, I will get rid of Spotify and see if this continues. Also, I will do that system restore thing. Let's see if that helps.

It randomly shut off again in the same way I last described. I don't know what's wrong but I'm almost certain I felt an electric current where my fingers touched where I'm missing some keys on my keyboard. Why is my computer doing this?

I uninstalled Spotify yet it did that to me... Could it be that I've got a new battery but an old worn-out charger? Do you know?

Does the battery indicate it is charged(ing)? There should not be enough electrical energy for it to be felt through the keyboard or anywhere for that matter. You may well have a bad charger/power supply that is somehow shunting an over current. It may be a good idea to have a good tech look at it.

Ah!

Yes, the battery indicates it is charging. I will definitely have it looked at! The charger itself is very old. Could this be causing my computer randomly shutting off?

Yes a drop in the power will cause a shut down and possible data loss. I'm still concerned about the jolt you get too.

Ohhh!

The electricity I felt only happened once. It's continued the behavior of shutting off suddenly but I have not felt electricity since. I will get a new charger on Amazon. Will update again on how my laptop is doing.

Scratch that. I felt it from the charger seriously when my laptop shut off on me yet again.
Worse yet, my principal came to me today in summer school and told me to redo Bibliography (which is on my laptop). I showed my dad the replacement charger on Amazon and what does he say? "Get your diploma". SERIOUSLY??? Ugggggh... :'( So is it more apparent the charger is to blame if I felt electricity from the charger clearly?

If possible get a volt meter, touch the black lead to a ground and then touch the red one all over in different places to see where the leak is.
Tell Dad you need a good working machine to get the diploma. I'm a Dad, we need reasons to do things.

Thanks.

I'm 99% certain it's the charger. My laptop has yet to electrocute me on battery power. It only starts doing this while charging. Will use a volt meter to find the leak.

Will Music streaming (spotify) ever kill downloading or owning it
Hi there While I agree services like Spotify are great and cheap enough now to obviate a lot of the need for Music Piracy I can't buy into the "Not owning" Music any more. I sometimes wonder if people who make the sort of allegations that people won't "own" the music any more ever go...
