    BSOD on startup, except when system allowed to sit for a while

    Hi,

    I keep getting a BSOD on start-up into Windows 7. The BSOD will pop up when I interact with the computer while it's still finishing up the loading/boot-up process -- that is, while the HD is still making noise even though I see the desktop. If I let the computer sit for a while, then it seems to be stable.

    I'd appreciate any help with the issue! Thanks!

    Dave

    The SystemInfo.txt file seems to be missing, please open a Elevated Command Prompt, and then type the following command:

    Code:
    systeminfo.exe>C:\systeminfo.txt
    Upload and attach the file in your next post using - Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

    The file will be saved at the location specified, close the Windows or type Exit when the command has completed.

    Thanks, it seems you have all the necessary Windows Updates which is good, and here's the current BSOD analysis :)

    Your Intel Rapid Storage driver seems to be a possible cause, and every outdated, please update to the lastest version from here - Intel® Driver Update Utility

    If no updates are available, or the problems still persist with that driver then remove using these steps:

    Arc said:
    Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.
    1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
    2. It will open the "computer management" window.
    3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
    4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
    5. Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
    6. Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
    7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.
    Update BIOS (if possible):

    Code:
    BIOS Version/Date	Award Software International, Inc. F3, 7/31/2009
    Code:
    2: kd> !sysinfo machineid
    Machine ID Information [From Smbios 2.4, DMIVersion 36, Size=1187]
    BiosVendor = Award Software International, Inc.
    BiosVersion = F3
    BiosReleaseDate = 07/31/2009
    SystemManufacturer = Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
    SystemProductName = P55M-UD2
    SystemFamily =
    SystemVersion =
    SystemSKU =
    BaseBoardManufacturer = Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
    BaseBoardProduct = P55M-UD2
    BaseBoardVersion = x.x
    I would also run full scans with any AV suite you have and with Malwarebytes.
