Need help with crashes ( BSOD )

    Goodday,

since lately I was having trouble while gaming, my pc crashes a lot of times like at least 1 time in 2 hours. I went on research and found out that the problem was caused by a virus ( said on other forums ). So my harddisk was pretty much a mess anyway, so I decided to re-install a fresh copy of w7, hoping that would help. I installed all the new drivers, I also defragmentate the harddisk. Checked technical issues with Quick tune, but sadly enough it didnt work. Now i'm still having a lot of crashes and they are sometimes different from each other. I actually think my graphic card is causing the problem since the most ( if not all ) crashes happends when I'm gaming, but I'm not sure and have no idea how to solve it. The temperatures are fine I don't think something is overheating in the system... I could only find some info about the latest crash report :

    Dump : C:\Windows\Minidump\070713-47205-01.dmp

    Caused by : hal.dll

    Crash adress : ntoskrnl.exe+6f880

No idea if you need any more information about the crash. I can post it ofc.

    PC :

Processor : AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor 3.20 GHz
    Memory : 4,00 GB
    System : w7 Ultimate 64 bit.
    MB : ASRock Extreme3

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

1, Update the BIOS and stop overclocking the CPU and see if the problem disappears.

    2, Update these drivers:

ATI PCIE Driver for ATI PCIE

3, I recommend that you uninstall AVG and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Thank you very much for the information and help. I did everything you recommended Except updating the ATI PCIE Driver since I have no clue what thats about . But I hope this will do. Still I have one more question how could it be possible that the overclocking might be the problem. It's programmed into my Motherboard and I never had problems before.

The AtiPcie driver is probably a driver for the AMD 870 Chipset, you can download a newer version from here.

Overclocking is a quite common cause for system instability, overheating could also be the cause, check the temperatures with Speccy.

Thanks I just installed it, but I had an other BSOD before the install. With some other crash information. I'm not sure if overheating is the problem of all this. When I start a game my cpu temp goes to like 60 celcius ( little bit lower or a little bit more ). Haven't seen it above 63 celcius yet. I haven't checked my motherboard temp while playing a game , but when doing nothing it's about +/- 40 degrees.

The latest BSoD was probably caused by the Razer Reclusa keyboard driver.

Thanks I'll see if I can do something about it. I just did a CPU stresstest. It went to 83 degrees. So I'm actually gonna buy a new cooling system since thats not normall
