Random BSOD's, mainly ntoskrnl.exe but also other errors.

I tried to move all the things i had backed-up on the external to my main hdd and that's when it bsod. I usually have my external plugged into my TV because i have all my movies on it. It can't open in the TV any more, and I've tried to open it in my brothers PC aswell. But it says that I have to format it on that one aswell. I'm positive my external is not the cause of all the bsod. As I said, it's usually plugged into my TV.

EDIT: Hopefully I'll get a used hd on monday from a friend of mine to try out. It has windows installed so if that hd works with my computer and doesn't bsod, then I'll just buy a new hd and this issue is solved.

and Video help on how to perform partition surface test with Partition Wizard. to see if it will repair.

I would also try the How to activate Partition Recovery Wizard of partition magic? Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard Video Help. although it doesn't appear the partition was deleted.

If these fail then you can pull the drive out of the case, install it internally alone and try running the maker's diagnostics extended CD scan on it.

If all else fails you can try running data recovery software such as Recuva - Features

If you succeeded in copying any data off of it onto the bad HD I'd back it up now.

Ok, I've tried everything but the Recuva. When I open Recuva, even that program requires me to format the hd. So my question is simple: can I format the hd and thus remove everything I have on it, and then get everything back using Recuva?

Formatting the HD make's it less likely data will be recovered. I'd try some other data recovery scans.

I've purchased a new internal hdd now. I'll mark this thread as solved if it works.

Still getting some BSOD. Not from ntoskrnl.exe anymore however, the minidumps that say that it is because of ntoskrnl.exe is from when i had the old hdd still plugged in. Can You help me with what is causing these BSOD?

The only HDD I've got plugged in at the moment is my new one. I have installed windows on it, haven't activated it though.
However when I start the PC the first time when I've cut the power it does a really loud and annoying sound. (Attachment: Computer sound startup) I have to press the power button for about 5 sec for it to turn off again, and when I start it again it doesn't make the sound anymore. Every now and then when I start it it makes another sound though, and doesn't always start. (Attachment: Computer Sound)
