Yes. It's random though. Sometimes I won't get one at all and then I get hit with back to back BSOD every minute. I just turn off my laptop and wait a few hours when that happens. I can't seem to find a permanent fix.

In fact I just restarted from a BSOD before posting this.

It's BSOD a couple other times but I'm sure it's the same problem as my previous post so I won't bother putting up another zip until you've looked at that one.

Hi,

Code:

*******************************************************************************
* *
* Bugcheck Analysis *
* *
*******************************************************************************
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
BugCheck 9F, {3, fffffa8007fe4a10, fffff80000b9c3d8, fffffa800b244e10}
Probably caused by : ACPI.sys
I suggest updating the BIOS to A12, you have A04 dated 03/28/2011:

Code:

[BIOS Information (Type 0) - Length 24 - Handle 0000h]
  Vendor                        Alienware
  BIOS Version                 A04
  BIOS Starting Address Segment 0
  BIOS Release Date             03/28/2011
  BIOS ROM Size                 280000
download

*Use the "Analyze System for Updates" utility and check for any available updates.

Also your C: Drive has very little free space:

Code:

Drive C:
Size: 586.91GB
Free Space: 31.51GB
Free Up and Recover to at least 15GB:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/129976-hard-disk-space-free-up-recover.html

Is that the latest msinfo32 file??

Cheers
Dave

Do you have any suggestions on the process for updating the bios? I don't know how to back it up in the event of some sort of failure and I'm quite scared to alter it.

Hi,

The BIOS file is a .exe file, so it should be straight forward, simply download it and run.
Just ensure that your battery is fully charged and you don't have any power interruptions
during the update. Follow closely any on screen instructions.

I would suggest backing up any important files before you begin.

Good luck!

cheers
