BSOD Restoring from sleep, Address:ntoskrnl.exe +e58c2

I just built this computer a couple months ago and have been having random bluescreens.
Sometimes, it's when I'm just browsing the internet, the usb bus will stop responding for a couple seconds, then the computer will freeze. After about 10 minutes it will return a blue screen.

The other, more repeatable case is when I restore from sleep about 20% of the time it will bluescreen. This seems to be after it has had a chance to sit for a couple hours. If I try to brute force a bunch of sleep/restores it doesn't do it.

I have ran mem test, chk disk, uninstall patch kb2670838 per this post, turned on driver verifier per this post. When I turned that on, it seemed to freeze more often, but did not bluescreen no matter how long I waited.

I've updated my bios, my video card drivers, my usb drivers, all to no avail.

I've searched the forums diligently here and haven't been able to find much conclusive about this error beyond it could be a hardware error, and some people resolve it by reformatting.
I have reformatted (albeit I installed the same drivers) and the problem persists.

I have attached 3 of my dumps. you'll notice that 2 of them have other errors, hidusb.sys and mrxsmb.sys. I am assuming these are coincidental, as the ntoskrnl.exe is common among all of them. I would very much appreciate it if someone would take a moment to examine these and shed some light onto my issue.

While I've mentioned my troubleshooting steps above, I am more than willing to repeat any of these steps in an effort to debug this issue.

    Thank you!
    Dave

    Hello davet111.

The BSOD is caused by the Logitech USB Video Class Driver (WebCam).

Try to search for updates from Logitech Support - Downloads, Manuals, FAQs & More . If no updates are found, disable the device. Enable it when it needs.

And, Disable USB Selective Suspend too.

Thank you very much for the help! I will try to do that and report back after either a few days, or if it BSOD again.

    OK :)

BTW, I would opt for disabling sleep for a desktop PC. Sleep/hibernate is needed for portable computers mainly (laptops and notebooks/netbooks) which run on battery power, and sleep saves the charge of the battery. For a desktop PC, it is not needed at all.

I just like to save power. Plus it's hot down here in Texas! I try to turn off all my electronics if possible.

    Hello!
I've gone into the device manager and disabled the logitech webcam and it's still freezing.
It's happened twice so far where it's froze and has not generated a bluescreen, I'll wait for about 20 minutes before I have to hard reset it (power button for 3 seconds).

Is there a preferred method of trouble shooting this kind of problem when the computer is not generating crash dumps?

It may not be a BSOD, but if you post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions, we have have some idea about what is going on there.

Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept then restart.

Make it sure that the PLEXTOR PX-128M5M SSD is running with the up-to-date firmware.
General Plextor SSD Firmware Update Guide - Plextor

Uninstall Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller. Then follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling to get rid of the leftovers.

Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.

    1. Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
    2. It will open the "computer management" window.
    3. Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
    4. Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
    5. Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
    6. Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
    7. Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.

    Let us know the results.

Again, Arc, Thank you very much for the attention you have given my issues so far. I really appreciate it. I work in support and know how time consuming things like this can be.

I've followed all of your steps and two things stood out.
    1) while I was installing Microsoft Security Essentials, I got another bluescreen which thankfully generated a mini dump. I have attached that. You'll find the culprit to be ATI drivers, and the ntoskrnl.exe again.
    2) During the final instructions, step 5, I was unable to find any Intel devices in device manager. I have uploaded an image of that as well.

    I'll keep you posted.
