    BSOD at start up

I have BSOD at start up it happens as soon as the computer starts, it is the first thing that happens and the only thing. It worked fine 1 day wouldn't start the next. HP Pavillion DM4 laptop. Any ideas?

    Hi,

Can you access the Advanced boot options?

    Advanced Boot Options
    Choose Last known Good Configuration

       Tip
Use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to move the menu’s highlight to Last Known Good Configuration (Advanced), and then press Enter as the mouse won’t work at this screen.

Your computer should load successfully, and Windows 7 will discard the bad configuration and return permanently to the last known good configuration.

If it boots normally, you’ll want to get a System Repair Disc and try going back to the last System Restore Point.

    Hope this helps

    cheers

No, I get BSOD immediately, hitting F8 or escape does nothing. Just a blue screen.

Did you hit the F8 key repeatedly just at the splash screen?
Are you able to enter the BIOS?
Do you have any external devices plugged in?

Are you able to boot from your Windows 7 disk to do a repair install?

    cheers
