    One shortcut is still there.
    Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security Elle-PC\Elle:Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security Elle-PC\Elle
If you upgrade it to windows 8, and get crashes, close this thread by marking it solved, post your issue in BSOD Crashes and Debugging - Windows 8 Forums and post following the instructions, not your analysis as a text documents. Analysts will want to analyze themselves.

But as windows says it is not compatible, try in compatibility mode, or leave it.

Okay, I removed that last shortcut. I had a bsod during the win8 install and it failed and restored to 7. I'm guessing I should probably try and fix this issue before attempting again. I've attached another dt zip file

There is no specific reason for a BSOD apparently other than the existence of driver verifier enabled.
    Code:
    DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VERIFIER_ENABLED_VISTA_MINIDUMP
Driver verifier makes the system unstable, crash prone on purpose. It is not to use if it is not really needed.

Disable DV, by following the Option two of Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable .

    Is it still crashing?

oh wow, I must've spaced and not turned it off after using it before. I've turned it off and will see if any more crashes take place. I will be stoked if that was the only issue!

Okay, so I have not had another bsod yet, but I tried to upgrade to win 8 again twice and I keep getting a DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER error and it reverts to Win 7. Is this a related issue to my bsod problems or not?

So I had another crash. It didn't blue screen, but the pc froze making that terrible noise it sometimes makes when it bsods. I don't know if a crash was made or not, there isn't a mini dump, but here is the sfd zip

No new crash dump is there, after that you posted in post #12.

As you are having issues without adequate causes, go for a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 .
