It does seem like you were right, its probably not the same problem.... Seeing that its a different problem, should i open another thread or shall we continue here?
Freezes can be caused by a squillion different things. It is always statistically unlikely that any two machines on completely different hardware and in completely different environments are freezing for the same reason.

Yes, please. Start your own thread and that way your issue has a better chance of getting individual attention.

The "freezing in the BIOS" thing makes me think it's not the memory, though I could eeeeasily be wrong. If you're down to troubleshooting it yourself (because it's out of warranty), try stripping out as much non-essential componentry as possible and retesting the BIOS freeze thing.
Took your advice and removed Primary HDD, Secondary HDD, CDRW Drive, and replaced 4GB of Crucial brand DDR2 with 1GB of random memory I found lying around.

Guess what! Still froze in the BIOS/Setup. I'm thinking the key here is mobo. Power Supply seems to provide enough juice to run everything smoothly. Its a Dell L305N-00 with 305W output.

I'm going to try dropping in a spare mobo and see if problems still arise. At that point the only component left at fault is power supply. Oh my... may have to purchase parts soon. Ugh.

Thanks everyone -- I'll keep you posted on the situation.
