Getting BSOD a few times everyday!

Please help me, I really don't want to go through this during the college when I have to do research. Everyday my laptop goes through BSOD a few times a day, even when the laptop is in sleep mode.

It says driver power failure state and here is the info I collected:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name:BlueScreen
OS Version:6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID:1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode:9f
BCP1:0000000000000003
BCP2:FFFFFA800ADB8050
BCP3:FFFFF80000B9C3D8
BCP4:FFFFFA80064A5BD0
OS Version:6_1_7601
Service Pack:1_0
Product:768_1

If anyone can decipher this, thank you so much! This has been happening for over 2 to 3 months now and I can't seem to figure out why it's doing this.

This is a Gateway NV57H laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit OS). The processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz. I got this laptop in late 2011. I have 304GB free of 583GB. also would like to mention that sometimes shutting down my computer, it will be on the "Shutting down...." or "logging off".... for awhile and not turn off forcing me to have to turn it off by manually pressing down the power button on my laptop. Also I think it did BSOD once during that too. And Norton 360 would freeze my laptop when it did background task or background scanning, which used to not do this before the constant BSOD.

MSINFO32:
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

Norton is a frequent cause of BSOD's.

Replace with Microsoft Security Essentials & the Free version of Malwarebytes, update and make full scans separately:
Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software - ESET Knowledgebase

Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

Malwarebytes Free
  • Do not start the trial version of MalwareBytes
