If you are really failing to run Seatools for DOS anyhow, try Seatools For Windows.
The earlier one works better.
I've been away for a while but decided to give it another shot now I'm back. It simply won't boot seatools from the USB and I can't for the life of me figure out why, never had any trouble booting from USB before.
A Google search found someone that suggested changing the storage controller mode from ACHI to IDE, that resulted in a BSOD while booting. I also had a BSOD earlier whilst playing Civ V, the minidump of which I have attached.
Seatools for Windows finds no errors but I'm not sure how good it is.
Any suggestions would be great!
Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
Depending on the memtest report, we have to take some other decisions, as the IOStatus here is 0xc000000e (3221225486) - A device which does not exist was specified.Code:******************************************************************************* * * * Bugcheck Analysis * * * ******************************************************************************* KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a) The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185, it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll run memtest tonight and report back tomorrow.
What does it mean by the device does not exist?
Okay thanks again, will update tomorrow. I'm suprised it seems to be pointing towards a RAM issue as I was getting blue screen issues before I changed the RAM. Will just have to wait for the results of memtest!
I hate to keep asking stupid questions but I booted memtest from a USB and get this.
It doesn't appear to be doing anything and doesn't look like the screenshot in the guide you provided. To me it looks like it's not recognising the RAM properly? But then again I've never used it before.
I think Seatools may be working now so I'll leave that running tonight instead, just in case.
Edit: Strange, memtest will boot from USB but Seatools will not.
Go to memtest86+ download page and download the 5th one down, V 4.20 auto installer for USB Key.
