Several problems Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Although I was using Vista 32-bit I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7 64 bit on my system. The install went well and my system is up and running now, but with some problems.

I have gotten the BSOD, however that was only once and I've yet to get it again.

My linksys compact-g wireless usb adapter works for about a minute before I lose a connection each time I start the computer. I have installed the railink drivers suggested by Windows update but this has not helped.

When I try to install AVG free 9.0 on the system it freezes and I have to manually power it down. In fact, when I even choose the option to shut my computer down, it gets stuck on "Shutting Down..." and will stay there indefinitely.

Even when deselecting a windows feature, it will run continuously (at least for 1 hour and it was only stopping some trivial application).

Any help is greatly appreciated. I will update solutions or more information as readily as possible.

    System:
    Acer Aspire M641
Windows 7 Ultimate (NFR, if that matters)
    4 GB Ram
Intel Pentium Dual E2180 2 GHz

    Wireless Device:
Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter WUSB54GC

As a suggestion, treat the problems as unrelated, at least until you have substantial reason to believe otherwise. By splitting up the issues into individual threads in the correct sections of the forum, your questions will get specialist attention and more of it.

I recall issues not long ago with the Ralink x64 drivers. I'd suggest downloading the latest x64 version from the Ralink support website: Ralink corp.
