Windows 7: BSOD Everytime I'm playing games

Hi,

The GPU is as I bought it from the shop, it is an VTX HD7850 Xtreme (Factory Overclocked Card) but running at shop-default with no overclocking by me.

PSU: OCZ MOD Xtreme-Pro, 700W, roughly 1.5 years old

I ran the test for 15 minutes, fan was a little loud at 85% but test seemingly ran fine, no artifacts that I could notice.

I had reinstalled the Catalyst Control Center as the BSOD seems to be less frequent with it installed, hope that didn't spoil the test, if so let me know and I will uninstall again and redo the test.

Test screenshot added for your viewing.

Thank you

Hello 404.

A BugCheck 0xA0000001 is inherent in AMD/ATI display drivers.

Use AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility to uninstall the driver totally, try another version of display driver .... let us know if it is behaving the same there.

Hi 404, welcome to 7F!

You're in capable hands here with YoYo, and Arc, but I noticed one item when viewing your system specs.

Are you running any antivirus programs or did you forget to list one? Gaming and using tools like Daemon can leave you vulnerable to viruses and other types of malware.

@YoYo155... I would like to thank you for taking the time to help me with this problem, and also thank you for getting me some help from others, I really do appreciate your time spent, Thanks a lot.

@Arc... Hello and thank you for the help... I have used the uninstal program for catalyst control center you supplied me and removed it completely. I'm not sure what other versions of the driver I can use, can you give me some pointers/ideas please?

@Anak... Thank you for the welcome! ...I use the default windows 7 firewall and Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6.6.32, I have also uninstalled Deamon Tools, no other anti virus or other security software, its just a gaming system for me.

Thank you all for assisting me.

404, you may try any other version that you have used lately. I can say at random that you may use 13.1 WHQL.

Hello Arc,

I'm amazed my Civ 5 is working again, thank you very much!

I did use the 13.1 WHQL driver without the catalyst and seems fine so far (still amazed and VERY happy) < jumps in joy! >

I will update you on the other games as soon as I have them downloaded again, thank you so much.

Overjoyed!

Hello again Arc,

Playing Civ 5 and got a black screen (recoverable to desktop), received error "Ati Graphics driver failed to respond and has recovered", no BSOD, just needed to bring up task manager and close game.

The other games are having the same trouble, sometimes I can play for an hr, sometimes 10 minutes before I get the same error.

Thanks
