BSOD 0x0000000A, new PC Build, possibly memory?

Hi i'm sorry if this has been posted many times, I am new to these forums and couldn't find this anywhere.

Just a bit of background, I am about to do my masters in Mechanical Engineering, and so required a pc upgrade to run some large programs efficiently (ANSYS, Solidworks, Matlab etc).
I decided that it would be best to build a pc, as I could then tailor it for what I need.
This is the first time I have attempted a pc build. But it seems to me so far, possibly naively so, pretty simple.

I have bought all the components as shown on my profile, but I receive intermittent BSOD's (when I run a couple of programs at once sometimes - nothing too heavy, itunes, chrome etc). They always read 0x0000000A; I did take a photo which I have attached, sorry for the poor quality.

I have read up a little online about this matter but nothing definitive, is it possible it could be down to the RAM being faulty?
When I installed the RAM I installed it in slot 1&3 (slots next to each other) and not 1&2, or 3&4 as suggested. The reason for this is that when i install them into the 'correct' slots the pc will not boot at all and cuts it's own power before restarting and going through this process againf?

Sorry if this seems a very basic question but i'm wondering if anyone has any advice/tips before I contact Novatech directly.

Hello and welcome Nathan if you are concerned about the memory try RAM - Test with Memtest86+ you need to run it at least for 8 passes unless you get errors straight away but I am not so sure that is your problem.

The test by the way takes along time.

Yes mate sometimes it is good to set overnight unless like I say it does sometimes come up with errors pretty quick then you will know.

Ok both memory modules have been tested to at least 8 passes,
Unfortunately there was no error so it's not down to memory?

Do you have any other suggestions John?
I'm still within warranty for the next couple of weeks, and so I technically could systematically rule things out by sending them back but, this doesn't solve anything especially if it is down to software?

Nathan this looks a curly one to me and seeing it is a new board and you have some expensive hardware on it I am going to ask in a help thread mate as maybe one of the others is better equipped to see what the problem may be.

If you go into safe mode and run these for starters
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

then move on to this SF Diagnostic Tool - Using for Troubleshooting

This might be a problem with the motherboard.

BIOS upgrades won't help.
Different ram didn't help.
Using only one stick of ram might help.
Staying off of the XMP, SPD, and EIST features may or may not help.
Lowering the voltages and/or timings may or may not help.
The H87 board, more specifically the GA-H87-D3H is also affected.
Gbyte forums are blaming low powered PSU's but your 750 should be sufficient.

The best fix reading through this thread that started the end of June and is current to yesterday was changing the C-states, but it only worked for this one user.

Haven't seen any mention yet on the Gbyte | Z87 Motherboards Forums. I stopped checking when I saw that

When you install Windows , any version of Windows (Vista, Seven, 8 )... Windows do not like when the computer have more ONE stick of Ram.

I will set up the minidump folder and post the report as specified in Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions when I arrive home later, I have heard briefly that the z87 Gigabyte motherboards have a slight issue, so I may end up just switching to the Asus as I am still within Warranty. I won't mark this as solved yet, but this may be the best option.

P.S I have just re-read your reply Anak and once I have posted a minidump log on here, I will try installing with just 4Gb ram, and see if this changes anything
