    Constantly freezing and becoming unresponsive

    HP Pavilion dv7-6b78us
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    IE 10
    All Important Windows updates applied.
This thing will not stop crashing/freezing.
Most time while online I'll get a pop up saying the webpage, IE or explorer.exe has stopped working/responding or the thing will just freeze and all I can do is press and hold down the power button and restart.
I haven't been able to repeat the problem in safe mode.
I reinstalled Windows from the recovery partition a day or two ago, updated Windows, rebooted and the thing locked up immediately.
I've scanned with 5-6 different antivirus/antimalware scanners and none have ever found anything.

Thank you for your time and help,

Your PC appears to be over-heating.

Those temperatures are ok but I want to know if it is over heating, getting past 85° C
is out of my comfort level.

    Important!
If the PC is still under warranty the following test may void it!
    Please contact your system manufacturer.
Run this test for 45 minutes unless the system is over heating!!
    meaning it's past 82° C | Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
    use the Small FFT's option.

Keep an eye on the temperatures using Speedfan.

I never saw a temp exceed 81. What do blue down arrows mean? They were by HD0 & GPU. HD0 showed an almost constant temp of 35 while the GPU ones read 0 during whole test. All prime95 tests passed.

    Appreciate the help,

The arrows indicate a change in temperature over time:
    Code:
Blue - (down arrow) means temperature is decreasing. Red - (up arrow) means temperature is rising.
Your HDD was stable because it wasn't being stressed, and your GPU is integrated into the CPU
meaning no dedicated GPU chip so no temperature was recorded.

    Please test your HDD:

    1) Follow this tutorial | SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    • Go to Option Two.
    • Skip - 3. To Only Verify if the System Files are Corrupted.
    • Upload the CBS folder as specified in Option Three.

    2) Follow this tutorial | Disk Check

After hitting the Windows button and the R key, double-clicking on Windows Log & right-clicking on Applications "find" was greyed out and did nothing when I clicked on it.

Can you try again it shouldn't be, post a screenshot of the phenomenon.
Otherwise you can try Option Two.

As you can see from the attached screenshot "find" is greyed out.

Will try Option 2 and reports back.

    Thanks for your patience,

    The other file you requested.

Also I've been unable to paste the commands into the powershell window using Control-V so I've been typing them in. How do I paste into the powershell Window?

    Thanks again,
