Random BSOD while surfing, gaming, using Office
Hi all, thanks in advance for any help.
Problems started about 1-2 months ago. Things started out with system lock-ups. My CPU light was no longer blinking and everything was frozen. Ctrl-alt-delete didn't do anything, windows key did nothing, and my mouse was frozen. It took hard resets to get out of it.
This has gotten more and more frequent now for the last week happening almost daily. They have now been accompanied with BSOD on several occasions. However I don't always get the BSOD with the freezes.
Freezes happen while surfing the web (using google chrome), while loading games, sometimes using Skype, and even while shutting down my PC for the night. They can happen 5 minutes after my PC being on, or after 5 hours.
The BSOD's so far have happened while windows was actively shutting down, and then several times while just simply web browsing.
I have a custom built PC that I built in 2010 which has ran flawlessly until now.
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core Bloomfield i7-930 2.8 GHz
RAM: Mushkin 6GB 240 pin RAM DDR3
MOBO: Gigabyte UD3R LGA 1366
Nvidia GTX 460 1GB 256-bit GDDR5
PSU: Corsair HX750 750W
HD: Samsung 1TB 7200 RPM
The case has 5 large fans and have a custom CPU cooler, so heating/dust is not an issue.
I have noticed that after the BSOD and i force the computer to power down by holding the power button, the lights on my keyboard are still turned on. Not sure if this is significant or not.
I have thus far ran checkdisk. Ran windows 7 updates and also made sure my video card driver was up to date. Unable to d/l memtest due to no access from a non-affected PC (work has firewalls that prevent it).
Attached is my SF Diagnostic Tool zip folder.
I appreciate all the help that anyone can provide to me!!
