    Hello zefs.

UXtheme patcher is not exactly what is needed in windows 7. To apply custom themes, you may follow one of these two patchers .....

First disable the patch you have already applied. The secure and sure way to do it is to run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Then try either of those methods ... let us know if it is still crashing or not.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

By uxtheme patcher I meant universal theme patcher. Should I try UXstyle Core then?
If you like you can test yourself the theme I am using is Clearscreen Sharp with Desktop Composition disabled(Computer - Properties - Advanced(Performance) - Settings - Enable Desktop Composition(off).

OK ... try the other one ....
But have you replaced the system files included in the download?
A modified system file may cause issues ... thats natural.

The added explorer.exe gives you two alternative start buttons and one user picture frame. To apply those, you need not to replace explorer.exe.

Get the resources from the attached zip file .... Attachment 281796

So it seems the reason it crashes is the theme itself and not my system. Will contact the author anyway.
