Another BSOD problem 8-) So, i'm new here -hello all-
Been looking on your forum at the BSOD problems, sure are a lot, havn't really been able to fix my problem with what's been said to others, so i thought i'd give posting my problem a try.
I already posted onto the end of a dead thread, accidentally, didn't realise that there were so many BSOD problems on here, .
I've filled in my pc specs, and can tell people more if asked.
My pc is constantly BSOD'ing (i'm running in safe mode right now!) at first i thought it was an old webcam driver, took that off straight away, still hapened, then everytime utorrent was downloading, it crashed (same error codes) try open World of Warcraft - crash, browsing the internet - crash, MSN, steam, itunes. all the same thing, so it's a very diverse thing, in my mind, of what it could be.
I've been getting this error code (only one i wrote all of it down from, but they've mostly been 3B's)
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
blah blah blah
STOP: 0x0000003B (0x00000000C0000005, 0FFFFF80002C794DC, 0xFFFFF88003949800, 0x0000000000000000)
A friend told me to try a clean install of windows 7 (only been running it 3 days or so anyway, so thought sure, why not) and he told me to run my pc with nothing, just install my gfx drivers, sound drivers, and my wireless adaptor driver, and see what happens..I installed my wireless adaptor, everything ok, then get half way through downloading my gfx driver from nvidia, and crash, straight away (on a completely clean install of windows 7, with no additional programs installed, nothing.)
So now i really am stumped, i'm thinking RAM, which most people do think of, i ran Memtest86 already, a few times, 0 errors, every time.
Pretty stumped..
Anyone out there lend me a hand?
I appreciate any input from anyone, and thank you all for reading. | My System Specs |

Hi and welcome to seven forums
Can you go into c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to us so we can debug it. to upload use the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) in the reply form.
Let us know if you need help with any of this

Here it is, this is the only minidump i have left (obviously because of the new install) so i hope it can determine my problem (only ran the pc once, since the BSOD i've stayed in safe mode, to try figure this one out.)

Ok I just did a quick check of the dump and the primary cause of the BSOD was memory corruption. Im going to let someone with more experience walk thru it.
What you can do in the mean time is to download memtestx86 and run a long test on the memory. Overnight would be best.
Also if you are doing anything unusual like overclocking, or running a raid, or many USB devices. let us know.

Thanks ken.
I ran a memtest86 test already on this machine (test 8) which found no errors, i shall try again, (Do you maybe have a specific test number in mind?)
The only USB ports taken up are for mouse, keyboard, wireless adaptor (internet) and my external hard drive.
No overclocking at all here, all stock from when i purchased it only a few months ago.
I'm not running RAID, to my knowledge, if you could explain how i'd find out, i'll check that out for you and the others here, i havn't set it (don't know how :P) so i'm pretty sure not, (nobody else has access to this pc, so they couldn't do it.)
Thank you again ken. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer M5201 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (6.1, Build 7600) CPU AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor, 2.2GHz Motherboard Acer RS780HVF Memory 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 5300 Graphics Card GeForce 8600GT Cooling Acer M5201 Standard Hard Drives 2x 600GB & 2TB External Internet Speed 20MB |

You should run all of the Memtest tests - and run them for a minimum of 3 passes (overnight is better).
Your wireless USB device drivers are out of date (athrxusb.sys Mon Jan 29 07:57:10 2007) and are likely to be incompatible with Windows 7.
Interestingly, the output of BlueScreenView shows tcpip.sys in the stack - but I can't see it in the stack when I read it. I bring it up because of the outdated wireless driver. I would suggest that you obtain the latest Windows 7 driver for your wireless USB device.
Here's the output of the memory dump file: Code: Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.11.0001.404 AMD64

thank you.
I've checked just now for a update for my wireless adaptor, can't for the life of me find one.
It's the Belkin F5D7050 v4 (took me long enough to find the vista one when i was using vista)
What i did was run it as vista SP2 (on windows 7)
Obviously, it's causing a hiccup.
Bare with me till i can find a way to update this damn thing, (device manager says it's in date. lol) and i'll report back
By the way, you say let it run through all tests, (i'm new to the memtest program), how would i make it auto-run through all of the tests?
If you could tell me that i'll make sure to run that tonight.
Thank you once more, you're both a great help. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer M5201 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (6.1, Build 7600) CPU AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor, 2.2GHz Motherboard Acer RS780HVF Memory 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 5300 Graphics Card GeForce 8600GT Cooling Acer M5201 Standard Hard Drives 2x 600GB & 2TB External Internet Speed 20MB |

I'm stumped, can't find any more recent drivers than this, browsed many google searches (most coming back to this forum) and all people do is change compatibility modes, (turns out vista SP2 is the most commonly used) and thats sorted for them.
So maybe it's not the driver that's the problem? maybe it is the RAM afterall.
Any suggestions on the wireless adaptor driver?
I'm lost now, i don't quite know what to do. lol
Hoping you do! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer M5201 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (6.1, Build 7600) CPU AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor, 2.2GHz Motherboard Acer RS780HVF Memory 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 5300 Graphics Card GeForce 8600GT Cooling Acer M5201 Standard Hard Drives 2x 600GB & 2TB External Internet Speed 20MB |

You know something caused the memory corruption. As usasma said the USB driver is old but if that is the newest driver then you have to use it. How many BSOD's have you had? did they all happen when doing the same thing? I noticed that you were in Internet Explorer at the time of the crash, did the same thing happen in other crashes?
If you have anothere BSOD upload the dump and maybe we can get some more info to help you narrow it down

Uhh, today i've had roughly 20 BSOD's (all in the space of a couple of hours).
All from different things, as i stated above in the first post, Opening World of Warcraft, for example, crashed before the program even loaded (takes roughly 3 seconds to load up), yet yesterday i was playing it fine, no problems, havn't installed anything since then.
It seems like random occurances.
A few times my pc would just load up, the first thing to load would be MSN messenger, i'd open a chat, start typing, before i even hit 'return' BAM, i'm gone. BSOD.
I've switched from safe mode, to try 'encourage' a BSOD to appear, so far, nothing, but then again, i have no programs on here, so going to download itunes, see if that'll load for me, open a few windows programs up, play about a bit and see if it wants to die on me, to send another minidump
Not the best way, i know, but hey, it's 1:22am, and i'm getting bored of this problem already! lol
Oh, and internet explorer was open before, because i was downloading MSN messenger and the new GPU driver. I'll give that a go again i'll report back asap.
Thanks ken and Usasma You're both really helping me out. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Acer M5201 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (6.1, Build 7600) CPU AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor, 2.2GHz Motherboard Acer RS780HVF Memory 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 5300 Graphics Card GeForce 8600GT Cooling Acer M5201 Standard Hard Drives 2x 600GB & 2TB External Internet Speed 20MB Another BSOD problem 8-) problems?
