BSOD when trying to hibernate - wireless adapter disappearing
I have a ASUS U56E laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I got this laptop as a hand me down a few months ago with fresh install of the OS. Recently, the wireless adapter has been acting strange. The basic behavior is the wireless adapter will eventually stop getting a signal and not detect any other wireless connections but the one it was originally connected to. Any attempts to disable and enable in Device Manager freeze up that application. If you choose to hibernate the computer when this has occurred, upon opening my computer it tells me it has crashed. If I try to shut down my computer after trying do disable and enable the wireless adapter with no success (force closing DM), the computer hangs at the shut down screen and needs to be shut down manually.
Upon shutting down, the wireless adapter is undetected, and I have to go back into DM to scan for hardware changes....the wireless adapter returns and works fine for some length of time, and the process repeats itself.
I figured it was some kind of driver conflict issue with the wireless adapter, and have tried updating the drivers, but the issue persists. But at this point I'm leaning more towards hardware failure. Replacing the wireless adapters on these laptops is massive pain (have to remove keyboard), so I thought I would consult people more knowledgeable before I start buying parts and ripping up my computer.
I've attached the output from the SF diagnostic tool.
Thanks!
